Love the new front page, Jackie. Jayden and Landen have even had MiMi and DG hunting "rony ponies" as Jayden calls them. Although she won't pick them up herself, we somehow end up with a plastic cup full every time we go "hunting". In spite of the pollen that continues to give us all allergies, when Landen is with us he stands in the kitchen looking out the patio door and begging to go outside, Some of the time we just give in, grab the kleenex and spend some time on the patio where he rides his rocking horse and plays ball in the ground cover. They are growing up so fast; it's killing DG.

Landen spent the night with us on Monday night - April 20. I finally got him to say "MiMi" but he would only say it once and when I kept trying to get him to say it, he would say "no". For dinner he ate 3/4 of a potato pancake and a huge helping of baked chicken. He road the rocking horse on the patio and frowned at our friend, Rick Barrett, who was visiting us for an hour or so. I gave him a bath and shampoo but guess I couldn't get all the pollen off of him because he had a little cough during the night at which time he decided he did not want to sleep in the baby bed any longer, so he and I wound up in the guest room for a couple of hours. The minute his eyes opened, he wanted off the bed to go find his DG.

Jayden, (Miss 'I notice ever little thing'), spent Tuesday night with us. She quickly pointed out that I had fresh flowers on the kitchen table, a new hanging basket on the patio and a bud vase with flowers in it on the bar. It never ceases to amaze me how observant she is. When DG picked her up at school, she had a little cup full of roly poly bugs. She told DG her friend, Rue, had gathered them out of the sandbox and given them to her. She told us they were Rony-Pony bugs and that if you want to keep them from climbing out of the cup, you just hit the side of the cup and they will fall down into the bottom and if you want them to roll up in a ball, you just shake the cup and they will roll up. She took them to the park with us and suggested I sit on the bench and hold them while DG pushed her in the swing. At bedtime, I had to call her Dad and get him to persuade her to put the rony-pony bugs outside because she was headed to bed with them. We are having such fun with these little guys!

Yes, we understand that it is fun to enjoy your grandchildren. To snuggle, sing and play with them is so enjoyable. There is nothing like a new baby smell. Matthew loves to be sung to and knows his grandparents voices. I hope someday he can meet both Jayden and Landen, he is all boy and extremely alert. Christmas should be fun, can not wait to take him out to enjoy the lights. Our love to all.

Here’s the Landen update from his night with us.

I got home about 4:30. By 5:00 he was bored with me and Greg and had tired of playing with his trucks and ball he decided to snoop around the house. He picked up the corner of the rug in the great room and tried to look under it. Not a throw rug, the big rug. That thing is heavy and I have no idea what he thought was under it but he was almost standing on his head to see what might be under it. During the course of the night - he tried to get the remote controls away from Greg numerous times - he tried to pull the leaves off of the ivy plant - he tried to pry the pictures, that are held in place with Velcro on the side of the bar, off the wall of the bar – he threw his toys and his bottle – he pulled his bath towel into the tub with him – every time the pantry door opened he made a beeline to get in the pantry – he patted every surface in the kitchen (the wine refrigerator door, the dishwasher door, the glass on the back door) – one time Greg pried a Christmas tag out of his hand. He danced for us, talked non-stop, touched Santa Claus (who is standing on the hearth) several times, he just couldn’t figure out who that little guy was. When I would call him to come to me he would take off running and we would end up chasing each other. Greg swears he’s saying “look” when he points at something.

He ate a very good dinner – lots of vegetables and mashed potatoes and then some canned peaches. He splashed in the bathtub for 30 minutes while his butt soaked in the aveeno oatmeal looking stuff. He didn’t go to sleep until about 8:10, slept all night and was awake at 5:37 am wanting a bottle. Then he talked until 6:00 (in the dark), then dozed until 6:30. He ate some cereal and banana for breakfast and then I got him dressed. He carried his shoes around all morning until I finally put then on him. He was a very busy, good boy and we had a great time with him! One time I was holding him and he leaned over and put his cheek up against mine. He is a character; how can anyone resist that charm!
