Stories 6/1/11 In four days I will be 8 months old. Don't tell Mama; she's having a hard time accepting that I'm growing up. A lot has happened since I last wrote. I went on my first major road trip to visit Aunt Heather, Uncle Steve, Connor, and Brayden in Boston. We had so much fun going to the Easter egg hunt, Children's Museum, and hanging out at the harbor. Easter was great; the Easter Bunny left us so many yummy and fun things in our baskets! We went to Aunt Sissy's after Church to hang out with the family. We also celebrated Dada's and Pappa's birthdays on Mother's Day. I've been keeping Mama and Gio very busy lately. I am crawling and pulling up on everything like a mad man. I just want to walk! I'm hoping it'll happen soon so I can chase Gio around. Mama's not thrilled about my new-found mobility, but I love it. I have 6 teeth and two more coming in. I'm so sick of liquidy baby food and just want to eat table foods. I eat whatever Mama gives me, even fish! I love food! Gio and I have been going for bike rides, playing inj the yard and swimming in the kiddie pool and, finally, our big pool. We are like fish! Oh, I got my first hair cut a week ago. Nonna cut it at Aunt Sissy's. The wild, crazy look is gone. Gio's last day of school is tomorrow, so now he'll be home to help me drive Mama crazy. Our favorite thing to do right now is to have screaming matches. Usually I start it and we just go back and forth. Mama just loves it! I wonder why she always has a heacache. I also like to shake my head "No" when Mama says "No" to me. I'm so funny; I can;t stand it!
4/5/11 I'm 6 months old today!!! Mommy and Daddy can't believe half of a year has passed by already. I have two teeth on the bottom (arrived on Valentine's Day). I started solids and am a really great eater; I eat up everything! Tummy time is fun now because I roll all over and creep like an inch worm to get the toys I want. I can also sit up and play with my toys. Giovanni and I had a rough winter: lots of colds and viruses. Now we are all feeling well and have taken a few walks when the weather was nice...notice it's only been a few. Where is Spring? Where's that groundhog??? Giovanni is still crazy as ever and doing very well in school. He's now "playing" hockey and has great balance (thanks to Mama teaching him yoga!). Ok, I'm sure I have forgotten some things, but my little brain is still developing so cut me some slack. Mom will remind me and I'll post more soon. xoxoxo
1/19/11 Well, Thanksgiving and Christmas flew by in a jiff. It was great spending time with family, but what I liked most was how good Old Man Kringle was to me. He gave me hockey skates! I already tried them out at Pappa's make-shift rink and did very well. Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Lakeshore Hockey rink and skated there too. I love it! Antonio was a good little boy during Christmas and received many nice things as well. We not only ride my quad, we now hook up an intertube to it and snow tube. Mommy had the most fun with that. Daddy pulled her so fast! I had a nice break off from school but am glad to be back. My teachers say I'm doing very well. We've been doing a lot of cool Chemistry experiments. My favorite part of the day is snack time! Antonio just got baptized this past weekend. He was so good and I was extremely proud of him; even Father McKenna announced that to the congregation. MiMi and Poppy came home and we had a wonderful celebration at the Brook House with all our friends and family. I got to wear my tux. I looked "sharp", "dapper", and "handsome" but Antonio looked the cutest in his baptismal outfit. He's reaching new milestones every week now. He's been sleeping through the night for a month so far, he smiles and laughs ALL the time, squirms around in his crib, holds his head up at 90 degrees and higher when on his tummy, and now reaches out and grabs hold of things. We are very proud of our little bundle of joy. I can't wait to finally be able to run wild with him and teach him all the crazy things I do!
11/6/10 Antonio is one month old today. Wow; it's flown by! He's a cute little guy and I love being his big brother. He is awake more so I can hang out with my little buddy. My birthday and Halloween were awesome! We had a family birthday at Aunt Sissy's and Dark Night showed up...it was really Uncle Jonny dressed up. Mommy and Daddy got me a Yamaha Raptor 4-wheeler for my birthday. I LOVE it! I take everyone for a ride on it; I'm so good at riding. Pappa has lots of land so I go there to ride. I'm a lucky kid!!! Mommy threw a little birthday playdate on my actual birthday. We had Super Hero cupcakes, snacks, and a pinata full of yummy candy. I broke open the pinata. She also brought cupcakes to school for me. On Halloween I went trick-or-treating with my buddies Joshy and Ava and their cousins. I was dressed as Wolverine and got lots of candy. We called it a night early because the weather was so yucky- snow flurries! So I put on my warm jammies and handed out candy with my Dracula teeth in. Then Mommy, Daddy, and I watched Iron Man 2 while they raided my candy. I'm surprised I have any left!
10/18/10 My baby brother, Antonio, has arrived. He came fast and furiously on October 5, 2010. He weighed 7.5 lb. and was 20.5 inches long. That stinks that my little brother was bigger than I was! I love him to death and can't stop kissing and hugging him. I love when Mommy lets me hold him. I feel so special being his big brother. He's a good baby so far...wait till I get a hold of him. I'll have him driving Mommy crazy in no time. Ha! Ha! Mi Mi has been here for over a week, and I'm having so much fun with her. Also, it feels like Christmas every time someone visits; they bring me gifts! Mom and Dad need to have more babies!!! Thank you everyone! Speaking of gifts...I can't wait for my birthday. Mommy's making super hero cupcakes for school and I'm going to dress up in my Wolverine costume. I'll save batman for Halloween. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!
9/22/10 Fall has arrived and I am officially a preschooler. I attend the Rochester Museum and Science Center and love it. I get to play with toy animals, instruments, trucks and blocks, sand, and read books. Last week we learned about the monarch butterfly and got to touch one!
My brother is coming any day now. He's supposed to come on October 11th but Mom is 5 cm dilated and 80 percent efface...translation: SOON! I can't wait to meet him and help take care of him.
8/18/10 Wow! It's been a crazy Summer! I have been swimming with my swimmies a ton, but I really want to take them off and swim under water. I jump in the pool and dunk my head under. In the bath I practice holding my breath so I can swim longer under water. I love it! We went to Inlet, NY to visit Aunt Heather, Uncle Steve, and Connor, and I swam in the lake. Mommy and Daddy couldn't get me out. We went fishing (unsuccessful), heard and saw loons, went hiking in the woods, saw a beaver damn, and Daddy caught me a crayfish with his hands. Mommy made us put it back, of course. We also went to Marineland with Nonna, Pappa, and Aunt Sissy. An orca splashed us; we got SOAKED!!!! Mi Mi came to visit for the 4th of July. We went to Cousin Judy and Ronnie's and then to the downtown fireworks; they were awesome! Mommy, Mi Mi and I also went to Ted's cottage on Canandaigua Lake. We went on the boat and swam in the lake. I loved hanging out with Leah and Lexi. Oh! How could I forget? I am officially potty trained for a few weeks now. I feel like such a big boy! I love to pee outside when I'm in the pool. Mommy says pretty soon I have to stop and learn to hold it till we get inside, but for now I'm loving it! I hit a little growth spurt and grew a little taller. My shoe size jumped to a size 8 so Mommy and Daddy bought me new sneaks: pumas and Nikes. I'm big now, so I like to tell everyone.
Antonio is doing well. He's moving like crazy, especially when Mommy goes to concerts and dances. Sometimes she says it hurts, but I love feeling him move. I like to give Mommy's tummy zerberts and feel him kick. I sing to him, talk to him, teach him prayers, and kiss him a lot. Mommy doesn't like it much, but I like to pull up her shirt to show people I have a brother in her tummy. I can't wait for him to come out! I have so much to teach him. Mommy's 8 months pregnant, so only two months away and I get to meet him.
6/25/10 Summer has been great so far. I am swimming like a fish in my pool. Did I mention by myself with just floaties? That's right! I even jump in and go under...for a second. Going to Springdale Farms, picnics, parties, getting ice cream, golfing, and haging out with family are just a few of the things I've been doing. Cousin Michelle Valerie came to town and we played a few times; she even let me squirt her with my squirt gun! For Father's Day Daddy took me golfing. I took off in the golf cart by myself and played in sand traps. It was a blast...for me, at least. I'm doing really well with potty training. Mommy and Daddy have been working hard with me on letter recognition and sounds. I love learning! I can't wait for preschool.
I'm getting really excited for my baby brother to come. I sing to him and talk to him every day. It's pretty cool to feel him move in Mommy's tummy. Antonio's heart beat is 162 and he is very happy moving around in Mommy's tummy. Mommy is feeling well, too. I can't wait to teach him everything I know. I'm really becoming an independent little boy. Mimi's coming to town next week and I can't wait! She better bring Chuchamunga and the animals!!!
5/14/10 Well, let's talk about me first. I am doing really well on the potty; I pee a lot and am starting to do poopy because Daddy bribes me with Super Heroes. Hee! Hee! I know my alphabet, can count into the teens, and I am now recognizing letters and letter sounds. I'm still a maniac but I'm starting to help Mommy a little more since she's carrying my baby brother around in her tummy. Yup; that's right, a brother. I'm going to have a buddy for life now. I can't wait to show him everything I know...good and naughty! For instance, I'll show him how to lock himself in Aunt Sissy's room and dig for goodies like I did with cousin Nick on Mother's Day. He'll be a pro before he's two. For now, I'm just looking forward to enjoying my alone time and having a blast this Summer before preschool at RMSC starts in September. Shortly after that my baby brother will be here!
3/24/10 We heard the baby's heart beat Wednesday. It was pretty high. We didn't get an exact rate but daddy estimates (I know, big word for a little kid) around 190. We aren't sure, though. I'm getting excited! I rest my head on mommy's tummy and sing to the baby. I like to kiss her tummy good night and talk to the baby. Guess what...I can say my ABCs all by myself. Now I have to work on my numbers. For some reason I discriminate against 4, 5, and 6. I skip them everytime. I count from 1-3 and then 7-11. I like to be different, I guess. Mommy and daddy moved me into my own big boy room. Daddy picked out a dragon theme for me because I can't wait to see the new dragon movie out this weekend. I like my new bed but I still like giving my parents a hard time about sleeping right now. I think it's funny...they don't. I guess we'll never see eye-to-eye.
3/19/10 That's right! I am going to be a Big Brother!!! Mommy is 11 weeks along. My brother or sister will be here around October 7th. I'll probably have to share my birthday now. Does this mean I get jipped on presents???? It's only the beginning. UGH! I am doing well. I play soccer once a week and have playdates with my buddies Ethan, Liam, and Hudson. I'm driving Mommy nuts because I keep fighting my nap and bedtime even though I am really tired. Hee...hee! Mommy is looking into preschools for me for the Fall so I can learn more things. I love to learn! I count to 10 (sometimes 12) and know almost all my ABCs. Sometimes I like to throw numbers into the middle of my alphabet. My favorite book is from Cousins Joey and Marilyn Miran called Room on the Broom. I have started memorizing it. I'm looking forward to the Easter Bunny's arrival and going down to Charlotte to visit MiMi and Poppy. I get to sit in my own seat on the plane. I'm such a big boy now!
P.S. Mom is going to update pictures tonight...if I ever fall asleep ;-)
Happy New Year to everyone! Christmas was awesome; Santa was soooo good to me! I received a motorized John Deere tractor with matching trailor. I figured out how to drive it in reverse...right into the livingroom wall. I have so many John Deere and construction toys, I could run my own construction/agriculture company. Christmas Eve was a lot of fun at Cousins Ronnie and Judy's (after church, of course). I carried on the Christmas pajama picture tradition in front of the fireplace. My cousins spolied me rotten that night. Christmas morning Mommy and Daddy madetheir annual Christmas breakfast for Grandpa Kridel, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Sissy, and me. We then went to Nonna's for an incredible meal and opened up even more gifts. I got a walking dinosaur from Cousins Leo, Mai, and Nicholas! It's so cool! Once again....spolied! New Year's was fun at Uncle DOug and Aunt Sevinc's house. I got to meet Baby Brady for the first time and build forts with Uncle Jonny and Aunt Sissy. Unfortunately, I woke up sick New Year's Day and have been stuck inside. I can't wait till I feel better and can go sledding in all the fluffy snow!
12/4/09 I already got the chance to play with Bella in the snow. Uncle Joey showed me how to make snowballs and Mommy made me make a snow angel. It was so much fun...till my hands went numb! I also went to visit Santa in the same day. I made sure to ask him for all the toys I wanted. He better deliver or I'll give him some coal!
11/2/09 Well, I survived my birthday and Halloween. It was one busy week. I had so much fun at my party and felt so loved. It was a blast playing with my friends and riding Rascal the pony. Thank you to everyone who came to the party and for all the thoughtful gifts. On my actual birthday, Mommy and Daddy took me to the Strong Museum to see the Super Heroes exhibit, and then we went to eat with Nonna and Pappa after we stopped in at Cycle Stop to look at ATVs and motorcycles. On Halloween Mommy and I went to visit Daddy and Nonna at the pizzeria and then went to a friend's house for a party. It was my first Halloween party and I had so much fun! I went trick-or-treating like a big boy and ate candy all night with my buddies.
I've been driving Mommy a little crazy because I don't want to nap and keep climbing out of my crib and over the gate. I just want to play with all my new toys, is that so bad??? I'm still a good boy; I'm just testing my limits as a big boy moving up in the world.
8/18/09 Oh, I forgot to add that I went to Mimi's 60th Surprise Party, Cousins Ronnie and Judy's for the 4th of July, and to Aunt Sarah's cottage the day after. 8/18/09 Ok, I am updating my site because Mommy has received death threats if she doesn't. I love her too much to let that happen. So here it goes. I have been extremely busy. This Summer has been full of parties, picnics, weddings, playdates, and trips. We surprised my family in Pheonix for Cousin Mike Rowell's 50th birthday party. Cousin Tina almost hyperventilated when she saw us in her kitchen. It was a great trip: hot weather, great resort, lots of swimming, and quality time with family. Next I went to Boston to see Aunt Heather, Uncle Steve, baby Connor, and Ollie, the dog. We went to the beach, Maine for lobster, and to the Aquarium and Little Italy in the North End. Mimi came home for our cousin Lindsey's wedding so we did a lot of fun things when she was home. She and Mommy took me to the spray park for a picnic and we went to Brownsberry Patch to see the animals. It was fun until Mommy got sick and Mimi fell and got hurt. They are both okay, relax. I also went to my Cousins Tony and Jen's wedding. I danced and ate a ton of cookies- YUMMY! It's been so nice to spend time with my family, especially all the fun I have had with Daddy. 6/22/09 I had a great Father's Day! I had breakfast with UNcle Jeff, Mommy, and Grandpa Kridel. Then I went golfing for the first time with Mommy and Daddy. I loved the golf cart. The best part, though, was looking for wild life while Daddy golfed. Mommy and I saw ducks, toads, hedge hogs, and turtles. It was fun. Later, Uncle Joey and Aunt Suzie, Nonna and Pappa, Aunt Sissy, and Cousin Lisa came over; it was the first time I got to meet Lisa. SHe bought me a Pooh ball. I am so lucky! 6/14/09 Today I did poopy on the potty for the first time! Mommy asked if I had to go, I told her "uh, huh", so she put me on the potty and I went! I even clapped for myself. Cousin Michele had a birthday party for Frank and I went. I stayed up really late and ate a little Italian sausage by the bonfire. I felt like such a big boy. I also went to the zoo with Uncle Jonny and Aunt Sarah this weekend. They took me out for a burger after. I had so much fun! That same day Daddy took me in the pool for the first time this Summer, and I kept jumping off the deck into Daddy's arms. Bella swam with us; we even raced. It was a great weekend! 6/13/09 I loved the dinosaur show Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Sissy, Nonna, and Pappa took me to. It was incredible! I didn't get scared and I sat through all two hours of it. I was so good that Nonna, Pappa, and Aunt Sissy spoiled me with dinosaur memorabelia. I've been keeping busy with play dates with Raquel and LaReina, Hudson and Ethan, and Josh and Ava. All I want to do is play in the mud, sand, and water. Today Mommy took Bella and I to the park and we went on a little hike. Bella and I were in our glory. She ran off ahead and would come back for us, while Mommy and I looked at birdies and butterflies. I also found a huge rock pile to climb up. I lvoe being outside! We have toads at our house that Mommy and Daddy take me out to say goodnight to sometimes. We also saved a drowning chipmunk out of our pool. Mommy was my hero. She picked it up and put it in a towel on her lap while she patted it dry. Then Daddy brought out some walnuts for it to eat. About 10 minutes after we went inside to give it some space, it ate all the nuts and took off. It felt good to save a life. Mommy said we should it compassion (another sophisticated word she wants me to learn). Well, we have to go now to Cousin Frank's birthday party. Time for cake! Hi, everyone! I have been so busy the last couple of months. I go to the Little Gym every week and have several playdates with my neighbors, Ethan and Hudson, and Baby Grace and Baby John John. I love to play outside in my baby pool and sandbox. I also have been helping Mommy and Daddy with yard work. I love to shovel with my blue shovel. Daddy bought my a golf set and we practice every week. Pretty soon he's going to take me with him one morning. I have been practicing my ABCs and can say all the letters after Mommy and Daddy say them. I can count to 20, mostly on my own but Mommy and Daddy have to fill in a few numbers here and there. Daddy and I have been wrestling, and I pin him and yell, "One, Two, Three" and hold him down. I am learning more and more colors but green and blue are my favorites. Thanks to Mommy, I have been eating a lot of ice cream. Thanks to Nonna, I have been eating a lot of popsicles. I love them!!! I still love olives, hummus, and beans. Lately, I have been eating so many different things. I can't wait for all the backyard barbecues and parties!!! In a couple weeks Mommy, Daddy, Nonna, Pappa, Aunt Sissy, and I are going to see dinosaurs. I'll update again after the show.
