1-7-2012 - Ben went to his first Karate lesson. Mr. David said he did great. He was worried about whether Ben could do it, but was shocked to see how well he kicked and hit the punching bag! He is going to work with Ben one on one until he is ready to start with a class. We hope Ben enjoys this sport so he can grow with it and have personal achievement for years to come. Mr. David informed Ben on how important it is to ONLY do karate at the gym....NO WHERE ELSE! Ben said "yes sir". So far so good!
12-25-11 MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!
12-17-2011 - BEN LOST HIS 2ND TOOTH!!!!
12-17-11 - We went to the Polar Express for our third year and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. Ben was so excited to see Santa and to get a bell....what a great day!
12-9-11 - We went to the Alpine Village again this year. This is our third year! We had a great time! Ben loves going to all the little cottages and making different things!
10-31-11 - HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Ben was Darth Vader, Mommy Melissa was a witch and Mommy Wendy was a vampire! We had a great time!
8-25-11 - Ben's first day of first grade!!!! Mommies did good until we got home, then we cried a little bit! Ben was so excited to start school! He has his one on one from last year, Ms. Brandy and he has Mrs. Libera for his teacher. We are looking forward to a great year!
In the mean time...all that can be done, is if Ben passes out or faints, we call EMS and they would have to use the defibulator to shock his heart back into rhythm or he could die. We pray this never happens. There are medications that he could be put on for the rest of his life....but we are waiting on the results before this happens. Please keep Ben in your prayers....from experience, we know prayers work. Ben has been thru so much and has come thru on top every time and we believe this is because of God's work. Thank you in advance for your prayers!
7-31-11 HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY BEN! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!! WE LOVE YOU LITTLE MAN!!!!7-29-11 thru 7-31-11 - Ben didn't want anything for his birthday but to go to the beach. He has been begging us for weeks, so for his birthday we took him to the beach for the weekend. During our trip we got to ride the SkyWheel, go to the Magic Kingdom, play at the beach and Ben learned to swim without his life jacket in the hotel's pool. He turns 6 and he grows up over night! We also went to Alligator Alley where we learned that Ben is not afraid of ANYTHING! He wanted to pet everything....YUCK! And he got to pet a real baby alligator...shouldn't we be worried that he's not afraid of any of these slimmy things? He had the best time! We pulled out of the hotel to head home and he looks at us and said.....MORE BEACH PLEASE.... gotta love this kid!
6-9-11 - Kindergarten Graduation - Well what an exciting day!!! We can't believe our little boy is graduating from Kindergarten.....he is growing up too fast! He has done so well! Mastered the requirements to go to first grade!!! Such proud parents! Mommies, Maw-Maw, Paw-Paw, Elaine and Miss Lori came to see Ben graduate! We are all so proud of you Mr. Ben!
After graduation, Mommies and Ben went to spend the day at Tweetsie and Thomas the Train was there! We had a great day!
5-11-11 - Ben's kindergarten class went on a field trip to Tweetsie for Letterland. Mommy Melissa had to work so Renee (aka Jesus) went with Mommy Wendy and Ben. We had a great time!!!!
**Renee is our pastor and one day Renee asked Ben what the sign for her name was and did a sign to him...he said NO....then she asked what is my name....then he signed "Jesus" and we all laughed. Melissa and I tell Ben we are going to church to hear about Jesus and since Renee is the one talking, he thinks she is Jesus..... it's really a cute story! We have tried to explain it to Ben that she isn't Jesus, but he tells us no....she is Jesus! Talk about a God complex... :) **
5-6-11 - Ben went to Special Olympics for the first time today. He had his own little cheering team with him - Mommies, Elaine. Gary and Renee (aka Jesus)! He got to participate in the kiddie games and received a shirt full of stickers!! He was so proud of himself! :) The girls who worked at Special Olympics fell in love with Ben....he is quiet the ladies man! Ben got his picture taken by a reporter and ended up on the front page of the local paper! We are so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends!
5-4-11 - Ben had his first field day today! He wanted a red ribbon so bad (Second place ribbon). He was mad when he got a blue (first place) ribbon....then finally got a red (second place) ribbon! He had so much fun!
4-30-11 - Saturday - Ben had his first T-Ball game today. He is on the BLUE Gamewell team and he is number 5 (He got to pick his number). He did so good. He actually hit the ball the coach pitched the first time and then hit off the tee the second hit! We are so proud of him. He scored 2 runs. His team won! Final score was 11 to 9. Ben likes to sit down halfway thru the game....so Mr. Terry stood like a shade tree over Ben so he didn't get hit! It was too cute!
3-15-11 - Tuesday - Ben is doing great in school. He is reading daily readers...it is amazing. He is doing math and that is his least favorite subject...but he does it. He is writing much better. He writes his name from memory, first and last. He has over 200 signs and is learning more each week...it blows our mind. He doesn't forget a thing! Ben is our pride and joy! We couldn't love this little boy anymore...he is our world!
(And we have a new addition to our family, a four year old lab mix, named Sparkie. Ben loves Sparkie and loves all over him. Sparkie is so laid back and lets Ben do anything to him....and Idgie LOVES Sparkie too!)
3-6-11 - Sunday - Today Ben and Mommy Wendy
3-4-11 - Friday - Ben received a package in the mail today. Ben received a Mississippi State Football Jersey uniform from Jennifer and Geoff Collins, the new linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator for Mississippi State University. Ben loves it! We can't wait to get to go to a game...Ben gets to go on the field and in the locker room with the coach and the players....how cool will that be?
3-2-11 - Wednesday - We are so happy that Ben lost his first tooth tonight at Aunt Elaine's!!!! He lost it while napping....thanks to Uncle John for finding it in the bed! :) Our little boy is growing up! We can't believe it!
2-27-11 - Sunday - Ben is growing up so fast. He is doing so good in school. He read his first book this week! Thank you all to those who follow Ben thru this journey called life! We are so blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives! Thanks for your friendship!!!
