Sept 2009 - Labor Day weekend we all traveled to Ohio for Great Grandpa Prescott's 90th birthday party. Everyone was very excited to finally meet Dillon. He spent most of the weekend playing with his cousins, Brock and Austin. We stayed with Aunt Pat and Uncle Ed where Dillon got to play in real grass!!! They had a black kitty that Dillon kept calling Ziggy even though his name was Bubba. Dillon was the hit of the weekend. Grandma Jackie got to show off her youngest grandson and enjoyed every minute of it.
August 1, 2009 - We just got back from Hilton Head, SC where Dillon got to spend a week with Grammie and Papa, Uncle Jeff, Auntie Leigh, Kyleigh and Jakey, Aunt Heather and Uncle Bill. Everyone had a great time, especially the kids!!! All of the kids loved the beach and playing in the waves. No fear! We rented a house with a pool that we enjoyed every day. Everyone got a great sun tan but Kyleigh was the darkest little girl on the island. We rented bikes with a cart for Dillon and Jakey which they loved riding in. Both of them were very good and fell asleep each bike ride. Dillon got to spend a lot of time playing with his cousins and having fun with Grammie and Papa and Uncle Jeff and Auntie Leigh, Aunt Heather and Uncle Bill. We hope to plan an annual family vacation so Dillon will have many great memories!
05/10/2009 - We just can't believe Dillon is 1 already!!! He has changed so much in his first year and has brought so much joy to our lives. He started walking completely on his own on 04/28/2009, just after his birthday. I picked him up from daycare one day and the teacher told me he walked all around the room by himself unitl he found the walker!!! He has been on the go ever since. Dillon is also off the bottle and drinking milk from a sippy cup. We tried a booster seat for the first time this weekend and he did great. So long to the high chair! Da da is still by far his favorite word and he won't put the football down for anything!! He's been swimming a few times and love the water. No fear! He is transitioning to the toddler room at school and seems to be doing quite well. He gets to go outside now that he is out of the infant room and the teachers say he loves it!! We had to buy him a new pair of shoes, size 5.5 EXTRA WIDE, because he got mulch in his sandals when he played outside. Dillon is thinning out, but still bigger than most kids his age at school. At his 1 year check up he weighed, 26.5 pounds and was 30 inches long. At 6 months, he weighed 24 pounds so it looks like he is finally slowing down! Of course, his appetite is still HUGE!!! Life couldn't be better for Dillon. He is such a happy TODDLER!
Feb 1st - Dillon has had a very busy month!!! He started to crawl and now we can't stop him!! He is everywhere. He just figured how to pull himself up to a standing position, too. Dillon cruises the furniture so well that we are sure he is going to be walking soon. Both top teeth have come in giving him a total of four chompers. He's trying "people" food every day. He has had pizza, yogurt, jello, cheese...but his favorite are CHEERIOS!! Dillon also went to the beach for the first time. He had alot of fun until he ate a handful of sand!!
12/25/2008 - Dillon's first Christmas was so much fun!!! He got tons of toys and clothes! We think he loves his swing the most He woke up early after a late night out and was very surprised to see all of the gifts around the tree. He had so much fun playing, he wore himself out by 9am. Most of the day was spent with Summer and Phil...Dillon chased their poor doggies around until they finally gave up. We are so excited to go to Cleveland tomorrow so everyone can see how big Dillon is now!!!!
12/21/08 - Dillon visited the town of Celebration this weekend to see the "snow" fall!! He has no idea what he is in for next week when we go to Cleveland and he gets to experience the real thing. Dillon has become quite the little dare devil, too. He now thinks it's funny to fall straight back from the standing position, like the Nestea Plunge!!! He is scaring Mommy like crazy but he sure gets a kick out of it! Thank goodness Mommy is there to catch him. He is also putting his new teeth to work. Dillon can pick up puffs and Cheerios and feed himself. He is still working on taking the bottle by himself, he would rather play with it and get water everywhere. He is making new sounds every day and we are hoping he says mama and dada very soon!! Dillon is still not crawling but rocks back and forth until he gets so frustrated he cries. We know he can do it, he just needs to figure it out!
7/18/08 -- Today Dillon is 3 months old!!! How time is flying by. This was a pretty big week as Mommy went back to work and Daddy stayed home with Dillon for some good male bonding.
We are so lucky to have such a good baby like Dillon. He is getting very close to sleeping through the night and now isn't getting up in the morning until 7am or 8am.
7/2/08 -- Today Dillon took his 1st trip on the "Gott Boat." He was pretty relaxed for the most part and enjoyed the leisurely ride up and down the intercoastal waterway. It was a perfect day and we are looking forward to many more days spent on the water.
Weekend of 6/13/08 -- Dillon took his 1st vacation to beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. We weren't sure how he would handle the 6+ hour drive up there but to our surprise he was a perfect angel.
Dillon got to see the beach for the 1st time in his short life and loved every minute of it. I think he's going to be a big fan for the rest of his life.
We posted a ton of pictures of our trip so take a look at little Dillon on his 1st family vacation. We already can't wait to take him on vacation again!!!
6/6/08 -- Today is Dillon's seven week birthday. It's hard to believe he is coming up on two months old.
Unfortunately he has acquired a small cold and is not enjoying sleeping at night. The little guy is stuffed up so we're trying to find alternative ways to help him sleep (suggestions currently being accepted). :)
We hope all is well with our family and friends all over the country. Enjoy your weekend!!
6/3/08 -- Six weeks have flown by already and Dillon is growing like a weed. As you can see in some of the new pictures Dillon has started smiling quite often at mommy and daddy.
Next week Dillon will be taking his 1st road trip up to beautiful Charleston, SC to visit crazy Uncle Jim. This should make for some funny pictures!!!
5/11/08 -- Happy Mother's Day!!! Mommy is enjoying her 1st Mother's Day. Daddy, Dillon and Ziggy got Mommy a spa package so she could get pampered for a day.
5/7/08 -- Dillon had his 2+ week doctor's appointment today and if you can believe it, he has already gained 2 pounds!! He is weighing in at a hefty 10 pounds 1 ounce. Luckily, all of his other measurements (length, etc.) are right in line with his weight. Dr. Weist said he is now in the 75th percentile for all of his measurements so it looks like he is just going to be a big boy...
4/29/08 -- It was a big morning for Dillon. What was left of his umbilical cord fell off today. How time flies!!
Dillon and Mommy are spending their 1st full day alone together. I returned to work this morning and I'm already counting down the hours until I get home.
4/23/08 -- Not much new to report today. Dillon has done a great job job not keeping mommy and daddy up all night (knock on wood). So far mommy and daddy have been able to sleep 5 to 7 hours each night.
4/22/08 -- Dillon had his 1st appointment with his pediatrician today (Dr. Weist). He has already gained back all but 1 ounce of the weight he lost at the hospital and has passed all of his tests with flying colors.
Grandma Connie and Papa Vaughn are enjoying every minute with their 1st grandson.
Dillon spent most of yesterday afternoon outside enjoying the wonderful Florida weather and the sounds of our pool.
4/20/08 -- We were finally able to bring baby Dillon home on Sunday. He has passed all of his tests with flying colors and he is enjoying his new home.
Mom is doing great. For the first time in 9 months she was able to enjoy a 2nd cup of coffee!
4/15/08 - No more news on the baby front. Shannon is still 2 cm's dilated and 80% effaced as of this morning. Her doctor still expects a "good size" baby in the next week so keep your fingers crossed.
