Stories May 19th, 2010
Wow....where have I been??:) Things are wonderful at the Zapp house!! 3 kiddos are a TON of work, but all 3 of them are sooooo amazing! Emilie just turned 8 months on the 15th! Time flies:) Evan has been busy playing baseball....which he LOVES! Has really started to take an interest in baseball cards:) Ellen just finished her soccer season. She really improved as she played! She was playing w/ 4 & 5 yr olds so we were VERY proud of her. So far....her favorite activity is gymnastics. Emi is sitting up.....eating snacks....belly laughing....LOVES her brother, sister & doggie(and mommy & daddy,of course)!! Wylie walks near her and she automatically shuts her eyes waiting for his wet, sloppy kiss:). AJ LOVES his job selling NIKE! He is soooo grateful to enjoy his job so much. Well, I will try to get on here more often. Love you all! Nikki
Sept 22nd, 2009
Well.....Emilie is here!! She was born Sept 15th at 4:07pm and is absolutely PERFECT!! She weighed 8lbs 9oz and was 21 in long :). The delivery went great.....except for the epidural having to be done 3 times.....NOT FUN! She has had a rough time sleeping at night, but we are trying to adjust! It's tough when you have 2 other kids to care for! I wanted to put up pictures because some of our fam and friends aren't on facebook and may not know that she's even here yet! Well, off for a nap:) Nikki
August 15th, 2009 Well.....Emilie's nursery is 95% done and I wanted to post some pics I took of it. My sister and Abi helped me sooo much and I just feel relieved that it's ready! Thank you Mee mee for the rug(LOVE it!!) Now onto finishing planning Ellen's 3rd bday party...then Evan's......AAAAHHHH. Believe me. We. would. have. never. planned to have 3 kids bdays in like 2 wks. Doesn' the Lord know that I LOVE to make a BIG deal about their birthdays:) I'm sure at some point we will have a joint party, but I will try to seperate them for as long as I'm able to remain sane:) My check up last week went great. I am going every week for a non stress test, ultrasound and blood pressure check because of my high blood pressure and issues w/ low amniotic fluid w/ my past pregnancies. It's tough because I am at the doctor's office for like stinkin' 3 hrs, but it's worth them keeping a close eye on our little angel. I still can't believe in just a few short weeks AJ and I will be the proud parents of 3 kids :) . I'm sure I should be more nervous than I am, but right now I'm just so excited to see her sweet little face! I'm hoping that I can go until Sept 18th, but have a feeling she may make her debut earlier for some reason. We'll see:) Well, hope you all are doing well and enjoying the rest of your summer! Love you all! Nikki July 29th, 2009 Just wanted to post some ultrasound pics of Emilie!! AJ and I went to a place last night that does 3D ultrasounds:) It was so exciting to see her cute face and watch her move around(she yawned a few times:) ) The pregnancy has gone pretty good.....I've had some blood pressure problems, but other than that things have gone pretty smooth. Evan and Ellen are doing great! They are both excited to have a baby sister soon. I am in the process of finishing her nursery...I'll post pictures when I'm finished:) Well....sorry for the short and not so often posts. I'm in the habit of using facebook and not the website so much:) Take care! Nikki May 5th, 2009 Today was a great day! The Lord has blessed us with another sweet baby girl:) We are naming her Emilie and calling her Emi(not sure on the middle name, yet). Ellen seems excited....Evan not so much:) He was visibly mad for about 15 minutes after I told him!! I sat him down and told him that I was glad he was my only baby boy and that he had Nolan as a cousin. After that, he seemed OK w/ it! A.J. is out of town for training(new job), so he wasn't there, but he was on the phone the whole time, so it wasn't too bad. I am just sooo thankful that she looks healthy and feel so blessed! April 26th, 2009 I finally added some pics of the kids at Easter and Jebbie's party. I gotta tell ya....when I have free time from the kids I'm either cleaning, doing laundry or resting:). I'm 18 wks preggo now and we can't wait to find out what we're having! May 5th is our ultrasound appt, so looking forward to it! The nausea has gotten better, but I still usually throw up every morning:(. It's definitely better than being nauseous all day, though! We have some BIG news!! A.J. just put in his 2 wk notice to Extra Innings and was offered a job w/ a company called Impact Sports. He will be selling Nike products(uniforms, spirit wear, shoes, etc.) to small colleges, high schools and travel teams. He's soooo excited about it and it will allow him to not work the "crazy hrs", so he'll be home for dinner every night(or most:) ). We'll keep you updated on that! About Evan.....he's playing soccer right now and LOVES it! He played his 1st game not ever going to a practice and scored 3 goals! (all of their practices had gotten rained out) He's such an active little boy and loves competition. (we're working on him being a good sport even when he loses!!) He hardly ever naps anymore, so he has "quiet time" in his room to rest and give mommy a break. He's hoping mommy has a boy in her tummy:) About Ellen....she's the oldest 2 year old EVER!! She still loves being "gorgeous" w/ her toes painted and hair curled. She wants to wear dresses every day:) That's about all I'm buying her these days! She has to wear a princess dress night night every night. She loves bubbles and is really getting into coloring/ cutting, etc. (hopefully not her hair:) ). Her vocabulary is still unbelievable and she's so tall(wearing 3 and 4t clothes). Potty training is coming along slowly. She will go when I remind her, but isn't great at remembering while she's playing. I'll be glad when she's 100% trained. She also says she wants another brother...we'll see! Well....that's all the news for now. Hope you are all having a good spring:) Nikki
Feb 12, 2009 Sorry it's been so long:). I've sortof gotten caught up in facebook and not been as good about updating pics and stories on the kids site. AJ and I celebrated Valentines Day last night w/ Jon & Abi. We had a blast as usual and went to the Eagles Nest Restaurant for the 3rd or 4th yr in a row:) We like going on a week night and never on the 14th! It's not as busy and they don't have a "special" menu that costs a fortune! The kids have their Valentines party at school today! They had fun picking out their surprises to give to their little friends in their class. Ellen has grown up so fast and is so much fun:) She ALWAYS wants to wear a princess dress(sometimes their dress-up dresses and sometimes she wants to wear her nightgowns that have princesses on them) It's a battle everyday to put "normal" clothes on! Evan is LOVING basketball! He is working on his dribbling(is that how you spell it?) but has a great shot(shoots left!) He loves Batman movies and is getting tired of some of the movies Ellen wants to watch:) He's really excited he's going to be a big brother again:) Yes....we're expecting! I am 8 wks and the doctor thinks that everything is looking great! We have had 2 ultrasounds so far and had a ton of blood work done. The last ultrasound we got to see the heartbeat(140). I am of course very worried, but so far everything looks wonderful. Please pray that God will watch over this little miracle. I think He is really going to do something special w/ this baby because if it weren't for the loss of the twins, the baby would never had been here:) I'll keep you updated! Take care, Nikki By the way....Evan & Ellen want a baby brother....we'll see!
January 6th, 2009 Well....we had a great Christmas and New Year! The kids had a blast opening gifts and spending time w/ family:) We are back to our normal schedule this week and I was kinda ready for that!! I posted some pictures of Laura's baby shower from last Saturday. We all had a good time and it was just so nice to throw it for her. We have been praying for them to have/get a baby for years now:) God is so good and we can't wait to meet Isabella(Izzy). I'm very excited to have another niece to spoil! Well, off to get ready for another baby shower for my friend Stefany....gotta decorate some diaper cakes! I'll post pics of that one next week! Love you all! Nikki December 21st, 2008 Hello all!! Just wanted to post some pictures of the kids:) We went to the Children's Museum on Saturday and they had so much fun!! There for awhile I felt like we could only go in the Playscape section(for infants and kids up to 5), but now I think they enjoy almost all of it:). I got some pictures of them in their Christmas Sunday outfits today! Ellen called her dress a princess dress and Evan wasn't too impressed w/ his vest. He asked AJ....."dad what is this?"(speaking of the vest!) What's new w/ us? Lets see....Ellen is doing ok w/ potty training. She loves the idea of "Big girl panties" and loves all of hers(Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Dora, Princess, etc.) She wants them on ALL the time, except she has been having far too many "accidents" in them:(. She knows that it goes in the potty, but I think gets busy playing, etc. and forgets! Evan had a solo at this preschool Christmas program and did AWESOME!! We were so proud of him:) He really is a good kid and LOVES wrestling w/ daddy, playing games(fish game and Hungry hippos are favorites right now) and is going to start playing basketball in January!! He's very excited and likes to put on any of his shirts that have a basketball on them everyday. He dresses himself now which is nice:) I usually always lay his clothes out for the next day the night before....there was even one morning that he came in our room to wake us up and he was already dressed!! He is also helping around the house some:) He can put his dishes in the sink and has even learned which drawer is which and puts his clean clothes away(he actually seems to enjoy it...I'm sure that won't last long!). I told A.J....I can't wait til he can run the vacuum:) or clean toilets! We are looking forward to all the fun in the week ahead! Hope you all have a very Merry CHRISTmas!! Love ya, Nikki November 24th, 2008 Ok...I've has some requests to take down the "poop pictures". This website is our real life people...poop pictures included :). No....for real....now that everyone has seen the day to day stuff I have to look at I will take them down!! Just so you know....those pictures made a few people's day(nothing like a good laugh...huh, Kelly?!) Well, Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so get your appetites ready!! Take care! Nikki
Happy 3rd Birthday Laynie Bug!!
October 31st, 2008 Happy Halloween!! We had a fun night....all the grandparents came over, my mom cooked dinner and my sis and her kids joined us.(Grant had a surgery yesterday...let's just say that Anna and Grant are done having kids:). Evan & Ellen had a blast running to each house. We are gonna brush their teeth extra good tonight:). Hope you all had a great Halloween!!! Nikki October 27th, 2008 Hello...it's been awhile:). I wanted to post some pics of the kids at Trunk n' Treat(our church's answer to Trick or Treating) and a couple pictures of a memorial service we went to a couple of weeks ago for the babies. Community Hospitals in the area have one twice a year for people that miscarried 20 wks or less. I'm glad they do it...there were about 150 or so people there. It's also nice to see that we weren't the only people that have had to go thru it. Here is a poem they handed out at the memorial service that I thought was meaningful: To the Child In My Heart Precious, tiny, sweet little one You will always be to me So, perfect, pure and innocent Just as you were meant to be.
We dreamed of you and your life And all that is would be We waited and longed for you to come and join our family.
We never had the chance to play, To laugh, to rock, to wiggle, We long to holdyou, touch you now and listen to you giggle.
I'll always be your mother, He'll always be your dad. You will always be our child, The child we never had.
But now you're gone... but yet you're here. We'll sense you everywhere. You are our sorrow and our joy. There's love in every tear.
Just know our love goes Deep and strong. We'll forget you never- The child we had, but never had, And yet will have forever.
~Unknown~ Are you tearing up, yet? :) Enough of that!! Big news!! Ellen is now in a big girl bed!! She has done really well and hasn't gotten out, so that is a good thing:). She really seems to like it. The kids are VERY excited for Friday night...we are planning on trick or treating in our neighborhood and just having a relaxing night at home. I'll make sure I post some pictures of them:). Hope you are all doing well! Nikki September 24th, 2008 Ellen had her 2 year old check up this morning. She weighed 30 lbs 6 oz. and is 35 1/2 in. tall(90th percentile for both). Dr. King said more than likely she'll be about 5'8 which I'm sure she'll love:). No shots were necessary, but she did get the flu mist(a million times better than the shot!). Evan is turning 4 a week from today!! We are having his party the Sat. after and he's soooo pumped! Well, that's it for now. Nikki September 22nd, 2008 Well....Ellen's CandyLand party was a hit!! She had a great time with all the kids(although got sleepy toward the end). The princess castle jumpy was a ton of fun for the kids and some adults(Jenn)! The weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed spending time w/ our family & friends. Thank you everyone that came. I still can't believe my baby is 2! Love, Nikki September 16th, 2008 Our baby girl turned 2 today!! We are celebrating her birthday on Saturday:). I can't believe how fast she's grown up!! She took some cupcakes to "school" today.......when I walked in the class all the kids had chocolate icing all over their clothes:). I know their mothers are going to be thrilled! Ellen is fighting a cold right now......I wasn't sure if I could send her to school, but she did fine. You can sort of tell that her eyes don't look quite right in her pictures.......poor baby. Well, I will post lots of pictures from her party on Saturday!! Have a good week! Nikki Oh.......she went to the doctor yesterday and weighed 30 lbs! Not sure how tall she is. September 7th, 2008 Well.....we're home from vacation and we had a great time:).......well.... minus me getting strep throat and Ellen having some terrible 2 issues the day we went to magic kingdom:). Besides that, it was great! It was WONDERFUL having Mee maw come with us!! The kids went straight to her room every morning to wake her up:). She didn't seem to mind and told me she got more sleep on the trip than she does at home!! We arrived on Sunday night after an okay flight(we didn't pay for Ellen to have a seat and the flt was full, so that was a bummer) except for Linda getting like 3 drinks spilled on her by Evan:). The kids LOVED their Mickey Mouse room and it was the 1st time Ellen has slept in a "Big Girl" bed and she did pretty good for the most part, but the hard part for her was that Evan was in there, too! She would scream, yell "EBAN", and one time I opened the door to see her grabbing the bed rail and shaking it really hard back and forth like a crazy person:). It was a battle to get them to be quiet and fall asleep. We had a great time at the pool........they had a slide, fountains, and a ocean type walkin side. The kids really seemed to enjoy it. On Monday night and Tuesday we went to SeaWorld. The highlight for Evan was the shark exhibit & the roller coaster, Linda's favorite were the penguins, A.J. & I liked the Shamu Rocks show & Ellen loved a boat ride. On Wednesday, we took the kids to Downtown Disney to eat lunch at Rainforest Cafe and walk around. We had to leave early because I could tell Ellen had a temperature:(. That's when I realized that I did too:(. Wednesday night was a wash because Ellen & I weren't feeling well. We got some rest and Thursday mornin headed to Magic Kingdom. Evan & Ellen thought the castle was soooo cool! As soon as we got there, we got Evan a autograph book.....not knowing if he would be into it or not..........He was!!! He loved posing w/ all the characters and getting their autographs(he has all of them memorized). Ellen on the other hand liked the characters only from a distance!! She had some MAJOR fits early on in the day(not sure if she still wasn't feeling well or just being "a almost 2 year old"). As the day went on, she seemed to enjoy herself a little more despite the heat! Evan was VERY good pretty much the whole trip.......it's one of those times when you think.....man, maybe some of the discipline is paying off!!! He has said a few times since we've been home that he wants to go to Disney World again!! We flew home Friday night and man were we all tired! The kids slept in on Saturday morning and have since slept great at night and taken long naps! We're ready to get back to the normal life and I've got to finish planning their birthdays!! I can't believe we're going to have a 2 and 4 year old..........Oh, how the time flies! Love, Nikki August 26th, 2008 Just wanted to post some pictures of our weekend. All of my family went to Turkey Run state park on Saturday to have a picnic, hike & swim at the pool. We took along Jett(my friend Amanda's little boy) because she just had an adorable little girl.......Lucianna:). The kids had a pretty good time, but the hike was a little too much for the little girls and made me a nervous wreck the whole time w/ some drop offs etc. I felt I was constantly telling Evan to come hold my hand. I've noticed when it comes to myself.....I like doing semi dangerous things, but this crazy overprotective mother thing comes out anytime Evan or Ellen are doing something half way scary. I'm sure it will only get worse when Evan comes to me one day and tells me he's going sky diving..........man I'm not looking forward to those days. We are looking forward to our trip(we leave Sunday) and Evan has been talking about it pretty often! I've also been planning the kids birthdays. Ellen's is only 3 wks away....she's having a Candyland party:) and Evan HAD to have a Batman party even though my nephew Nolan just had a batman party the end of June:) Well, that's all for now! Nikki August 17th, 2008 Just wanted to get on and post some pictures of our trip to the zoo!! We took the kids yesterday and had a really good time:). It was a little crowded, so that made it challenging to get good pictures, but fun all in all! Evan liked feeding the giraffe, watching the elephant get a bath and LOVED going on the roller coaster! Ellen thought the dolphin show was awesome and really enjoyed the water fountain play area. After the dolphin show, I told her they were tired and had to go take a snoozie(nap) mostly because I didn't want her to throw a fit because we were leaving.......anyway........she wouldn't stop talking about...."dolphin take snoozie" to us and anyone else that would listen to her for the rest of the day:). We are looking forward to our Disney trip!! We leave on the 31st! Only 2 wks away! Love, Nikki August 6th, 2008 We went to Kings Island yesterday and had sooooo much fun! Ellen stayed w/ her Meemaw and A.J., my parents and I took Evan & Nolan. We weren't sure if it was such a good idea because it rained the whole way there. When we arrived in Cincinnati it was still raining so we took the kids to this indoor playground called Run, Jump & Play. They played for awhile, we went to lunch and then the rain finally stopped! We got to Kings Island at 1:00 and there were hardly any people there!! The boys LOVED all the rides, especially the roller coaster, Viking(large ship that swung you in the air), & bumper cars! They are both over 40 inches this year, so there were a ton more rides they were allowed to go on. Later afternoon, we went to the water park side. They really liked the wave pool and enjoyed watching A.J. & Gramps go on the "toilet" ride!! That's what they thought it looked like! After dinner, A.J. & I went on our own and rode some rides while Mimi & Gramps took the boys on more rides. Poor A.J.!!! Roller Coasters are not his cup of tea and he still rode with me:). We didn't leave the park until 15 min. before they close!! The boys were so good and really enjoyed themselves! They said maybe their sisters can come next year! Well, I gotta go....Ellen's being "high maintenance"!! Love, Nikki
