5-30-11  Hello, been a while.  Lots been going on.  Celebrated Christmas in NC, met Santa on the Polar Express, Easter and David's 3rd birthday.  Been a great 2011.  David is 3 ft tall and 30 pounds and doing great.  Talks up a storm and has moved up to preschool.  Been about a month at the new school.  Morning are tough, but pick ups he is very happy and playing.  We had a great bday with the theme of dinos.  Everything went very well.  Granny and Aunt Kathye and Uncle Walt came again this year.  Great to see everyone and spend time.  David misses his cousins in NC.  Hope to see them soon.  Hope everyone is well!

11-26-10  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  Our day was fabulous.  Ate lots of food and shared a nice day.  David is trying to get rid of a cold, but overall doing well.  Picky about food, but of course loves sweets.  Hope everyone is well.

5-17-10  Celebrated David's 2nd b-day.  It went very well.  Granny and Gramps came from NC and Aunt Kathye/Uncle Walt came from CA.  David had a blast and loved all the attention.  He did fabulous.  We are SO blessed to have such a terrific son.  Although the terrible two's do come out sometimes.  Ha.  The party went very well.  Many friends and family.  David did get very upset when I cut into his b-day cake.  Took us a while to understand why he was upset.  Proved to be mad due to thinking his cake was a toy and just for him.  To say the least we did not have any extra bday cake since he tore into it with his toy train and ate all the frosting on the edge.  At least everyone got a piece first.  Thank you to everyone for making it such a special day.

Hello everyone.  So much to tell.  Had our beach vacation in W. Yarmouth MA in September.  It was fabulous.  Got to spend some time with Granny, Kori, Payton, Walker, Grandma and lots of other family/friends.  The beach house was great.  I headed to VA for a week for business the week after.  Was so happy that David recognized me when I got back.  October flew by.  David is saying more words (ball, stuck, momma, I think truck, and still says yeah).  He is getting some more teeth and loves to try new foods.  He ate lots of seafood when we were on the Cape.   He is doing fabulous at daycare.  Loves the kids.  Halloween was last night.  He was a devil and didn't mind wearing the outfit.  He thought it was fun.  Was real shy going to the doors, but by the end he would wave bye bye to the people.  He would say boo, but not in front of the neighbors.
I hope everyone is well!
Love,

3-14-09  David is now 10 months and doing great.  Has another ear infection though.  So another round of antibiotics, but is handling it fine.  Weighs 20 lbs 10 oz.  Has 2 bottom and 2 top teeth.  Think he is getting ready for a couple more.  Been drooling a lot.  David is an absolutlely fantastic baby and a joy for Jake and I.  We are having so much fun with all his firsts.  David loves icecream, of course that is not an every day occurance.  He is starting to use a sippy cup, but prefers to drink from an adult cup and spill it all over him.  He started to crawl a more normal crawl the past week or so.  Was doing the "army" crawl before that.  He enjoys standing and walking with his toys.  Think he'll be walking on his own very soon.  We are getting ready for his 1st b-day in May.  Nothing big, but lots of kisses from mom.  Having a bit of heartache with him getting older.  Really like 10 months old.  Loves to hug.

01-25-09  Well we got through the holidays.  Spent an early Christmas with my mom the week before Christmas, as Jake, David and I went to NC for the actual holiday.  We had a blast with Granny, Gramps, Kori, Will, Payton, and Walker.  It was great to see them all and to see the new house.  New years was low key.  Spent it having Chinese food and watching a movie with the family.  David is doing great.  Getting so big.  We go for this 9 month check-up on 2/6/09.  Cannot believe he is that old.   I feel I was just pregnant.  He is eating different things.  Doesn't seem to dislike anything yet.  We tried some chicken and beef stage 2 baby food this week.  Had to mix it with vegetables.  Eating it straight made him gag.  But he kept opening his mouth.  It was so funny.  Haven't ventured with people food yet...well gave him a nibble of mushed beans and sour cream.  Of course he loved it.  Also gave him a lemon wedge and first taste made that funny face, but kept on sucking on it.  He is an absolute joy and blessing to Jake and I.  Happy 2009 to everyone!

12-1-08  Happy Belated Turkey Day!  We had a blast celebrating with our friends the Wise's and my mom.  Jake cooked a feast.  David did so well and was so funny.  He cried a bit at Colton, but overall was excited to have guests.  Cannot believe he'll be 7 months on Saturday.  We are starting to shop for Christmas and the colder weather in NC.  David seems to finally shake his cold after some medicine.  Much better mood.  He is about 18.5 pounds or so.  And last check-up was 26 1/2 inches long.  We go for his 2nd Flu shot on the 11th so not looking forward to that one.  Then hopefully no doctor's until 9 months.  As you can all tell from the pictures we have started baby food.  Thus far he likes all his veggies.  We start fruits tomorrow.

11-05-08  David is going to be 6 months old tomorrow.  We cannot believe how the time has flown by.  He has a check-up on Friday.  As of last Monday he weighed 18 pounds.  We are all doing great.  Enjoyed our 1st Halloween.  Dressed up for a 1/2 hour then to bed.  Now the countdown to Thanksgiving.  Cannot wait until Christmas in North Carolina.

10-12-08  So sorry it has been a long time since my last blog.  Since entering back into the workforce getting life on a schedule has been a challenge for all of us.  Thank goodness we had family here my first week back (August 4th).  Since then we have got a good routine going.  Monday and Tuesdays David is with his grandmother and Wed/Thur/some Fridays he is at daycare by work.  Right now there are only boys at daycare and thank goodness David seems to be enjoying himself.  Michele is the daycare provider and is very nice and does many activities with the kids.  Now that David is a bit older and notices people he seems to love the other kids and the interaction.  Makes mom feel much better!  At his 4 month check-up in September he weighed 15.3 pounds.  He is now 5 months and I guess around 16.5 pounds.  Not sure.  The time has flown by.  David is going to be a green dinosaur for his first Halloween.  We are going to give out candy.  No house to house for us this year.  OH, forgot.  David cut his first tooth a couple of weeks ago.  Now he has 2 more coming in right beside the bigger one.  Crazy.  Well love to all.

8-22-08  Been back to work for 3 weeks.  Yikes, it feels like I never left there.  Very busy, but the best part of the day is going to get David and giving him hugs and kisses.  He is changing so fast.  Laughing and playing.  Had a great visit from the family.  Walker is sooo cute.  Payton is my gal pal.  Miss them all.  Already looking forward to Christmas.  Hugs from AZ.

8-10-08  We've made it to 3 months.  David is getting bigger and stronger.  His neck still wobbles a bit, but we have been having him sit in the bumbo chair to try and strenghten the muscles.  He still hates tummy time.  Just had a visit from Jake's family from NC.  We had a blast playing with Cousin Walker and Cousin Payton.  Aunt Kori and Granny were so good to us.  We even had a visit from Aunt Kathye and Uncle Walt from CA.  We definitely had a full house.  David did very well with the change, although there were a couple of times that David would cry and set off Walker and vise versa.  I went back to work last week while Jake stayed home so we could extend not having to send David to daycare yet.  Going back to work was tough, but it is very busy so I didn't have much time to be sad.  Plus my first day coming home David didn't even miss me.  Little stinker wouldn't even look at me.  :-)  This next week he starts to go to Grandma's two days a week and daycare two days.  At this time I will have Fridays off from work.  Hope all is well with everyone!  Love from AZ.

7-20-08 Had David's 2 month check-up on the 11th.  He weighed in at 13.2 pounds, 24 inches long.  Is in the 75 percentile for both.  He is 55 percentile for head size.  Not completely sure what that all means, but doctor says he is doing fabulous.  Has a bit of a flat head on the back, but doctor will not worry until his 4 month check-up.  Unfortunately David hates tummy time, but we try to force it throughout the day.  He is smiling much more now and has found his hands.  From time to time he finds some fingers and his thumb.  No interest in the feet yet.  He is very strong.  Likes to stand on us and pull on our fingers.  I go back to work on the 4th and have mixed feelings.  David met our daycare provider yesterday and seemed to like her.  He'll be around other kids and one is about 8 months older than him.  Another infant will be added at the end of the year (a girl).  Maybe David's first girlfriend.  Ha ha.  We'll be celebrating lots of Birthdays this month.  Have Jan, Jake and my mom all next week.  Jan, Kori, and the kids come for a visit on the 30th for a week.  Aunt Kathye and Walt will come over from CA for a couple of the days too.  Will be great to see David with Walker and Payton.  Love to all!

6-7-08  David turned a month old yesterday morning.  Slept right through it, but I gave him a big kiss.  Our friend Maria from Boston came to visit this week and left on Thursday.  It was great to see her and get some pointers.  David loved her and mommy loved the nap she got in the mornings.  This Sunday Grandpa comes to meet David on his way back from CA to NC.  Next weeked Jake and I head to Sedona for Jeff and Julie's wedding.  Grandma will be watching David for the weekend.  I am anxious about leaving him, but know he is in great hands and will be spoiled while we are away.  I am sure I will be calling every 5 minutes for an update.

I am sure I am going crazy, but David seems to have changed over night.  He is smiling more and being more animated.  Back to eating and then sleeping.  He had been staying awake for a bit and taking shorter naps.  Past 2 days at least an 1 hour nap each time.  Have to see what tomorrow brings.

6-3-08 Well some of our East Coast family just left last week.  They all stayed at my mom's house and my mom crashed with us.  It was nice to see them all.  David got to meet his Great Grandma and we all enjoyed a lobster/crab leg feast at the house one night.  Have to say having visitors has it's perks.  Got to have a few naps while my mom stayed with us....yahoo!!!  This week our friend Maria from MA is visiting until Thursday.  She is in love with David, so I'll have to make sure to check her bag before she leaves.  Ha Ha.  We got to go to lunch and a movie yesterday.  Grandma watched him for lunch and then us gals went to see Sex and the City while Jake and David hung out.  Movie was great by the way.

David is growing every day.  Eating about 4 oz every 2-3 hours.  Naps are not too long during the day, but usually a longer one in the evening.  Sleeps about 3 hours a stretch at night.  He does have a lot of gas, so we try to burp him frequently.

Love to everyone!

5-12-08 David has arrived!  A bit early, but that was fine with mom.  The labor was a bit long but the end result made everything worth it.  So far he has been such a great baby.  His personality is totally how he was in my belly.  Very calm.  The first nights have not been so bad.  I do miss the nurses help though.  He eats about every 2-3 hours, then sleeps.  We've experienced a couple of expoding poops when changing him but no pee in the eye yet.  Tomorrow is the first pediatrician appointment.  Granny Shanny is here this week helping out a great deal. I will post pictures soon.

Thanks to everyone for the warm wishes!  Jake and I are certainly blessed.

3-22-08 The baby shower was last weekend and what a weekend.  Jake's mom Jan and Aunt Kathye stayed with us and came in on Friday.  So we got to have some quality time with them.  I also had a friend come in town from CO and it was great to see her and share this experience.  The shower was Saturday and it turned out fabulous.  My mom, Jan, Melodi and Teri did a great job with all the planning, games, food, etc with help from Aunt Kathye and Marleen.  All the girls came out and were so generous and loving.  It was quit overwhelming, but I think everyone had fun.  Thank you to all from the bottom of my heart.  I posted some pictures to share.

Finally got the website up and running.  Added a few photos from our new camera and now Jake is trying out the new video camera.  We are getting very excited for David to arrive and play with us.  More to come later.
