2010 - Talking, talking, talking!  Collin is a regular Chatty Kathy these days. We now carry on entire conversations and can even chat with him on the phone.  He is growing like a weed, already moving into 4T in clothes and a size 9 X-wide in shoes.  Therefore he is quite the "brut" and he tends to level other kids. He really enjoys movies, particularly; Cars, Kung Fu Panda, Spirit, The Tigger Movie, The Incredible’s & of course Thomas the Tank.

Now that spring is moving in, Collin begs us to go play outside.  He is practicing his bubble blowing skills.  (Meaning that he doesn't put the wand on his mouth and blow as hard as he can) He can hit a baseball off a tee, throw fairly well, and is becoming an avid runner.  We talk about the pool a lot and I think he is really going to love the new pool we have already joined for the summer, complete with 2 water slides and an entire playground in the baby pool.

Lately our dogs, Czar & Dixie, have started coming around.  They have pouted since Collin came home from the hospital, but now they are starting to realize that he is not going anywhere and if they do what he wants them to, like being paraded around like a pony by Collin, they get treats.  So now Collin's favorite thing to say is the "Czar my Best Friend."

Speaking of friends, we hear all about Collin's friends from daycare.  Connor and Paxon are their names, and Brennan is there from time-to-time. I believe they are quite the group of trouble makers (aka: boys).  They take turns getting in trouble and push their limits, but from what I gather, Collin is more of a follower than a leader.  Not to say that he has not done his fair share of leading, like biting one of the girls, Olivia, on the finger, like he had done to him the previous day.  But overall he has a fabulous time at daycare and it is fun for Mommy and Daddy to hear how his day goes.

As the spring turns into summer, Collin will get to go to his first baseball game, go to the zoo, and take his first family vacation with his cousins; boating at Norris Lake and staying in a log cabin.  So in the meantime, I will make sure to update photos.

October 10 - Collin is now 2 and he had a summer full of swimming, playing, friends and tons of fun!  Collin's Birhtday was especially fun this year.  He was not sure what to do with himself when everyone sang the "happy birthday" song to him.  But he got a lot of great gift, especially his Choo-Choo train.

Collin is really talking a lot.  he will say or at least attempt to repeat anything we say these days.  We even get sentences, like "c'mon mom" or "let's eat", but his favorite things to talk about are still tractors, airplaines, cars and newly, his freinds from Daycare.

Today, we went to the pumpkin patch.  Collin really liked the tractor ride to and from the patch, and he was extatic over the pettind zoo that included goats, pigs, cows, ducks, chickens, a sheep and 2 sleeping pigs.  He is a candy freak though.  We went to downtown Fairborn early in the day to visit Foy's Halloween stores where all he wanted was a "big sucker".  We left there with a few bags of seasonal candy and a rock candy sucker.  A blue one to be specific.

Speaking of blue, Collin went to his first UK football game a few weeks back.  Although the Cats lost, he had a wonderful time playing with his cousins Claie and Olivia.  Collin made it all the way through the tailgate and to halftime. We left with a big foam UK finger :)

As for highlights of this second summer.  Collin loves to swim with his life vest on.  He especially likes jumping off the diving board.  He went boating on the Ohio river for the first ime in his Auntie and Uncle Mike's boat.  He can almost pedal his tricycle, he LOVES the park/playground and he also LOVEs to watch movies.  His favorite movies fluctuate, but he tends to always enjoy Disney's Robin Hood, Sword in the Stone, and Lion King.  He calls Madagascar "roar" and he adores Happy Feet.  Collin also LOVES to watch all the Harry Potter movies.  He even started asking to watch them by saying "Hay-ee Potta"  with and English accent!  Becasue there are so many Harry movies, we let Collin pick which ever one he wants almost every night and he layys in the bed with us and watches Harry movies :)

April 16 - Collin is almost 20 months now and he is just so much fun these days.  After a few weeks of intense teeth cutting, he is back to his normal self and is absolutely hilarious.  He loves to have attentions and he is really smart.  Collin is a puzzle pro these days.  He has four different puzzles (farm, trucks, shapes and ocean)  and he likes to dump the pieces out and have us watch and coax him into finishing them.  He makes the sound effects for a lot of the animals (cow, horse, sheep) and even recognizes that some of their names are similar (octagon and pentagon, octopus and octagon).  He gets mad at the truck pieces because they are just wood pieces and the wheels do not spin like on his many cars, but he still will run the across the floor saying "vroom".

As for Collin's speech, he is really good at saying "mama" and "dada" and he also screams "dada" whenever he sees a white truck (any large automobile really) like Clint's work truck.  He has said "ga-ma"  a few times and tries to say other family members name, but most come out as "da".  He can however plainly say baby, peek-a-boo, pee-pee, poopy, and popcorn.  And he absolutley knows who people are, including the dogs, his pig, himself and many other random objets around the house.  For instance, when we say anything about a horse, he gets excited an points in the direction of his rocking horse.  He knows a few letters becasue he and I talk about his name that hangs on his wall and he even know to recognize things in his surroundings or at the house he is at bacasue he will point out objects when you are reading him a book, like a stuffed kangaroo at abue's house.

Collin loves being outside. He is so happy that Spring has arrived.  Last saturday we all spent more than an hour in the yard playing on his little tikes slide and swing and riding his rocking pony and climbing in the treehouse out back.  He also like to have me pushhim on his new tricuycle.  the pedaling isn't quite there yet, but he is trying.  I just hope he looks where he is going because he is too worried about waving at us.

When Collin was teething, we got a little taste of the "terrible two's" and got a glimpse intou our future this summer, where we believe Collin might be spending a lot of time in time-out and we should think about buying stock in band-aid.  He is starting to get cuts and scrapes a bruises all over his little body becasue he is so active.  Crawling, running, jumping, climbing and most of all falling flat onhis face for no reason.  Oh the drama of being 20 months old.  It is tough out there, I'm telling you what.  But more often that not, Collin is a great little guy and we sure do adore him.  we could not have asked for a better baby/toddler.  He is so affectionate and has so much personality that each day is a joy.  We are the proudest parents that is.

Feb 1st - Collin is now 17 months old!  I can not believe how fast the time has passed and how big he is getting.  Collin can now run, almost jump, march, twirl, dance, and climb all over things.  He loves helping Daddy cook by stirring everything, all the time.  He has a ton of love for his dogs and remembers everything.  For instance, he has seen Mommy and Daddy use our toes to push the buttons on his CD player that sits on the floor in his room.  So now he can push buttons on it with his toes too.  He takes off running when we say the word "bath" and is ready to crawl in the tub in no time, he opens the cabinet in the kitchen to get out the popcorn popper if we mention the word "popcorn"  and speaking of popcorn, he is a popcorn fool!  He can eve almost say popcorn, it sounds like "pop-orn".  So yes, he has begun speaking.  In the last week or more he has mastered saying "mom"  and screams for me throughout the house. :)  Collin knows some animal sounds, like a cow says "moo"  and lions "roar".  He is very smart and daily amazes us with hit whittiness and his humor.

Since Christmas, that by the way was a blast this year, Collin has gone ice skating with his Uncle Luc, started new daycare, had his firt Oreo cookies, and even started showing interest in going to the potty.  So as Spring begins, sooner than later we hope, we are looking forward to many more words and tons and tons of fun outside.

October 12th - Since Collin has turned 1 he has had a lot of things going on.  There are tons of Birthday parties, lots of practice walking and he has even made a number of girlfriends.

Collin is a pro at walking now.  He can almost run.  He likes to carry things with him while he walks, chase the dogs and he can even stand up to walk now without having to crawl over to something and pull up.  It is crazy how fast he has picked this up.  He is all over the place and he wants to go outside all of the time so he can walk around and pick things up out of the grass.

He has really started to talk and I think a real English word might come out soon.  His jibber-jabber has doubled and he is still squealing and hitting the high notes all of the time.  In September Collin started part-time Daycare and he is with two other little girls that are twins.  Just last week did the three of them decide that they would all begin those high pitched screams at the same time and one right after the other.  So I received an email at work letting me know that Collin, Joley and Harley had begun a wonderful chorus group. :)

Collin really likes older kids and some younger ones too.  He adores his big cousins, Delaine and Breckin, but needs to learn t share a little better because he causes a few meltdowns over toys.  Collin really likes the neighbor boy Christopher and he likes Collin too.  They regularly wave to each other across the street and when Christopher comes over Collin is really good at showing off.  A week a go Collin's girlfriend, Hadley, came over with her mom and Dad to watch a UK football game.  Collin loved her!  he wanted to touch her all the time and surprisingly enough, he was not as brutus-ish as usual.  He wanted to point at her eyes a lot, so we had to watch out for that but he really liked it that he was allowed to give her kisses.  And I think she liked it too.

As Halloween is upon us and Fall is beginning Collin has many things that we have planned to do with him.  He has already gotten to pick out some pumpkins and some apples with Grandma, Grandpa, Grammy and Grampy! We imagine though that he has things in store for us as well.  In fact, he keeps growing so quickly that I am no longer going to be able to put anything on our kitchen table because he can now peek over it and pull everything off within reach. :)  So this Christmas should be a blast with Collin and the Christmas tree! ")  He loves shutting the doors, to be chased, reaching for the door knobs and just yesterday he has begun wanting to climb on things.  But we are loving every minute of it and are trying to catch it all on film.

August 26th - Happy Birthday Collin! Now that Collin is 12 months old he can walk!  He would still rather crawl becasue he can go a lot faster, but he is so proud of himself when he walks.  Collin will have a Birthday Party this weekend with his family and with a surfing theme.  Check back then for updates and some great cake eating pictures!

July 26th -  This month was full of excitment for Collin! He had his first 4th of July (without any fireworks or sparklers), his girlfriend, Hadley Nicole Adams, was born on July 11th, Mommy turned 25 (and thanks to Grandma and Great Grammy Collin pooped icing for 2 days),  Big Cousin Delaine came over for a slumber party, Great Uncle Randy got married,  Great Aunt Dee-Dee came to visit and Collin stayed away from Mommy and Daddy for 4 nights in a row for the first time!

While he stayed with Grandma, Abue & G, Collin managed to get three more teeth! That is a total of 4 teeth in one month and 6 total overall.  Finally! Mommy was getting worried he would only have 2 teeth in his head forever.  Collin is also getting very brave.  He is trying to walk all the time and he has taken quite a few steps, but he is very brave and he will just let go of things all the time, take a step or stand in place for a few seconds and then come tumbling down.  Luckily, he doesn't always cry abotu falling anymore.  We clap and tell him he is a big boy and he will laugh and smile at us.  He is so proud of himslef.

Collin is also full of interesting things to say as well.  Nothing resembling an English words yet, but maybe it is Mandarin Chinese or something...anyways, he is really jibber-jabbing these days.

PIG - Collin loves his stuffed Pig.  Hopefully he will have a real name, but for now he is just Pig.  He goes everywhere with Collin and is in constant need of a bath due to his lovely shade of pink being pushed around on the floor. :)

Collin is also liking cars and trucks these days too.  He likes to crawl and push something at the same time.  And as for his special drawer, it is now no longer.  He has discovered that he can pull all the sandwich and freezer bags out of their respective boxes and make a huge mess, and did I mention that those things are super slippery on a wood floor.

Only a few weeks left and Baby Collin will not be a baby anymore!  Until then, check back for some new pictures!

June 26th - 10 Months old! Where do I begin? I am the master of crawling, pulling up and cruising! Poor Mom and Dad have had to Collin-proof my house! I do get one special drawer in the Kitchen though; it has my beloved chip clips in it. I especially like trying to pet my dogs. It is such a fun game! I am getting really good at sneaking up on them, but once I reach out and grab a hand full of fur, they are off. When I am blocked off from going into the kitchen my dogs are happy. They go in there so I can't get them :( But I can always find the knobs of the coffee table to play with. Better yet, I have discovered the roll of toilet paper on the wall. Every morning while Mom is in the bathroom I unroll a big pile of toilet paper. It is so much fun and even kind of fun to put it in my mouth...Mommy gets mad though.

This summer I have a pool pass! It rocks! I really like crawling in the fountains in the baby pool, but it makes my knees and tops of my feet get red and sore, so Mom and Dad take me in to big pool at rest breaks. I can go under and I even "jump" of the ledge so Daddy can catch me! I have also started eating big people food. I love fruit, mashed potatoes, pasta and strawberry shortcake. Sometimes Mommy gives me a bite of oatmeal cream pie too. It is wonderful eating big people food!

I am looking forward to being able to walk and getting some top teeth. The Docotr says that my gums are swollen, so anytime I'll have a new toothy grin! Since I have started cruising I am getting braver by the day. My balance is better and I can sometimes even let go and stand for a few seconds, that is until I realize that I'm not holding on.

June 7 -
I CAN CRAWL! I finally crawled this morning trying to get to Dixie. I am really good at Army crawling and am perfecting my traditional crawl stance as we speak. It won't be too long and I'll be all over the place.

I am also perfecting my standing and my walking. I am getting pretty good at standing and holding on by myself, so once I get that down I am ready to walk. And I can't wait to walk an my own!!!

May 26- 9 Months old! I am a big boy now. I weigh 23.6 pounds and am 29 inches long. This puts me in the 90th percentile for weight and 75th for height. I am still the best baby ever. I sleep all night and hardly ever cry or fuss. Perfect is what I really am!

This month I went on my first vacation, Memorial Day weekend in Tennessee. I went to the pool for the first time and I even went under a few times. I loved it, but not my raft that Mommy and Daddy bought me. It is a very scary turtle and it makes me pucker up and cry. I am terrified of it!!!

I love to talk to myself and everyone else too. I am really good and saying "Da-Da-Da". I still only have two teeth, but maybe more will come soon. Although I can not crawl still, I am getting really good at cruising while holding on to anyone's hands. It is certainly my new favorite thing to do.
