Stories December 14, 2011 I didn't realize how long it's been since I updated everyone. Fall is always busy for us and this year has been no different. Okay...school started with a bang, as usual. Daniel played Fall soccer again and loved it! He has improved greatly too. Colby started his preK year at Hilltop school. He has some of the most wonderful teachers and is learning so much to get ready for Kindergarten. Naomi toyed with the idea of taking modeling classes. Although she ultimately decided against it, she loves fashion and spending time with her girlfriends. She turned 10 this month and had a fun party with her friends and family. We spent Thanksgiving with Grampie and Gramma Kate and ate too much delicious food (of course) and had fun playing on the Kinect system at Grampie's house. We are looking forward to celebrating Jesus' birthday on Christmas in just a few days.
September 15, 2011 Wow, has it really been a month and half since I updated everyone?! Yikes, we've been busy. Okay...August started with a fantastic visit from Nana and Scott. We went to the beach, mini-golfing and of course had some delicious seafood. Then, we had some relaxation and more visits to the beach. Naomi rode in another horse show in Springfield and placed well. The horse gave her a little trouble but she rode awesome and looked beautiful. We started school...Naomi is in 4th grade, Daniel is in 2nd grade and Colby is in his second year of preschool. Everyone loves their teachers and is doing great. We also went to Water Country as an end of the summer special treat for the family. We had a great day there, hot temperatures and short lines for the rides. We couldn't have asked for a better day! All three kids started swimming lessons again and Daniel is playing Fall soccer. Look for pictures coming soon.
July 29, 2011 This month has definitely been filled with excitement. We started July with our annual family cookout at Uncle Joel's for the 4th of July weekend. You'll see pictures of the kids on the boat, tube, fishing on the dock and of course jumping in the water. Our dog Casey has her first experience at the lake and loved it. She played fetch with a stick until she was ready to drop. We did sparklers back at home with the kids. They were so mesmerized by them, it was quite cute. Then we had our VBS at church (which I don't have pictures of unfortunately). Aunt Michelle and the Ritter crew came for a week and we did so many things. We went to Wingearsheek Beach which was so beautiful.
We had a family gathering after a short service to bury Nana Nancy's ashes next to my Uncle Mikey. We went into Boston and took a ride on Codzilla...WOW what a great ride!! We went to Canobie Lake park. We went up to Maine to play on the lake with Uncle Joel and even Grampie and Gramma Kate got a ride on the tube! The kids then went to "camps" at their respective schools for a week and Mommy had some alone time in the mornings...YAY! June 24, 2011 We have finished the school year with a bang. The end of May brought Memorial Day and the horse show at Topsfield Fairgrounds. We had a great time with friends, family and the horses. Then June arrived with Colby's birthday and Naomi's dance recital all in the same weekend. Super busy but super fun too!!! Then we had Father's day and our first family trip to the beach for this summer season. Last but not least, we finished up school. Naomi finished 3rd grade, Daniel finished 1st, and Colby finished his first year of preschool. All our children were blessed to have wonderful teachers and developed some great friendships too. We are looking forward to the annual McLaughlin cookout at Joel's on the lake in Maine and lots of sunny beach days.
May 2, 2011 April finished up with our Easter celebration. You will see the pictures of the kids peeking at their Easter baskets in the morning. A nice new family picture of us. Then the egg hunt at Grampie & Gramma Kate's house. Naomi and Daniel finished up their archery lessons with their bangquet, and I forgot to bring the camera for pictures so they might show up in the future (I just need to get them in their t-shirts with their certificates). The last few new pictures are from the Haverhill Kids Fest. Daniel and Colby got a cool balloon creation. May has begun with warm weather and less than 40 left of school! (but who's counting
)April 20, 2011 Daniel turned 7 on Sunday. I can hardly believe it! We had a YMCA pool party and everyone had a blast!! You'll see in the pictures that we had a slide, water guns and lots of other water toys to keep us busy in the pool. Now we are on vacation and having lots of fun.
April 12, 2011 We are celebrating the arrival of Spring!! The weather has finally turned around and we are enjoying more daylight, more sunshine and warmer temperatures.
Vacation is next week, Daniel's turning 7 next week , archery lessons finish the end of the month. The end of April will bring lots of busy-ness but in a good way. Happy Spring!!!![]() March 19, 2011 Life has settled just a bit over the past month. Kids are busy with school, friends, archery lessons, dance (Naomi), swim lessons (Colby). The highlight is that Mommy and Daddy got to go away for a weekend to Minnesota for Kevin & Lindsay Babbitt's wedding. It was a fabulous weekend. The kiddies stayed home with family and friends and had lots of fun too! We are looking forward to nicer Spring weather now that all the snow has melted! I really never thought it would happen before April.
February 17, 2011 Sorry for such a long absence. We've been busy and then our computer got "sick" for a little bit. There will be more pictures coming soon but wanted to update everyone. January is really a blurr for me. We were all infected with the stomach flu (not all at the same time unfortunately).
We had snow storm after snow storm. Lots of snow days off from school. Nana Nancy died shortly after we celebrated her 80th birthday. She fought a brave battle and we will miss her greatly. Naomi and Daniel started archery lessons. Then February arrived.
A little reprieve in the weather thankfully. Jason changed jobs...back to construction with CMG. He is enjoying it but has suffered a few bangs and bruises as he adjusts to the physical work again. Naomi got an ear infection. Jason and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary after a fabulous Valentine's day holiday at school and at home! Vacation starts tomorrow and we all can't wait for some fun and relaxation. As I said, we've been busy!January 5, 2011 We had a fabulous ring into the new year, 2011. We played in the snow after our blizzard at the farm with sleds, snowmobiles, horses and sleighs. Daniel lost his first tooth and got $5 from the tooth fairy, on New Year's eve. Aunt Michelle and Sam flew in that night and hung out for the weekend. We visited the farm again and the girls had lots of fun with Misty. Then we celebrated my Nana Nancy's 80th birthday. What an excellent "excuse" for the Rouse clan to get together and have some fun!
December 26, 2010 We had a very Merry Christmas this year! You will see by the pictures that, as usual, we had a wonderful Christmas Eve at Grandma & Granpa's house with our family and friends. Then Christmas morning, the kiddies had lots of fun opening presents. The favorites seem to be the pillow pets, Felicity (American Girl doll) and the DS. We really do hope that everyone has a fantastic new year in 2011. We will always keep you updated on events with the McLaughlin 5. Love and kisses to everyone!! ![]()
Dec. 7, 2010 Many of you know or met our previous Nanny, Abby. She got married on the 4th and it was a wonderful ceremony and celebration with her. Then we had Naomi's 9th birthday party on the 5th. She invited some girls from school to the church for a real girlie party. They baked cupcakes and decorated them, themselves. Aunt Catie, Aunt Corrie & Aunt Betsie all came to help with the girls' makeovers. They each had the nails painted, hair done and some make-up too! Naomi really had a fabulous time! Keep a look out for the annual Christmas card. It should be on the way soon.
November 30, 2010 November has been busy, busy, busy. We finished up Daniel's soccer season. We spent Thanksgiving with our family in Maine. Now we are preparing to spend this Christmas season with friends and family that mean so much to us. We hope you find joy during this season of giving and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas...Jesus' Birthday!!
October 30, 2010 Well, it has been a full filled Fall so far. Daniel is doing well at his soccer playing. He is on the Haverhill U7 boys team...they named themselves the Red Knights. Naomi is taking a year off from ballet and taking Modern dance instead. She is really enjoying it! Colby is following Naomi and Daniel around at their activities and enjoys going the preschool every day. We are looking forward to the blessings that the month of November will bring our family.
September 11, 2010 Colby started full day preschool this week. You'll see the pics of his first day. He loves it! He is already learning the letters in his name and some fun songs they sing. He eats lunch there and takes a nap every day. He really is growing up fast!
September 4, 2010 Summer is unofficially over - school has begun! You'll see the pics of Naomi and Daniel on their first day. Colby starts preschool next week. Colby got his first buzz cut and looks so much more like Daniel, it's a little freaky sometimes. Nana came to visit for a whole week and joined us at the horse show. We had an awesome time.
![]() August 28, 2010 Naomi rode in her first horse show on the 21st. You'll see the pics here and she did awesome! She was so happy and looked beautiful (of course). She placed 4th & 5th in her two classes. We are very proud of her! Tonight is Mommy's 20th high school reunion. I admit, I feel a little old - 20 years...really?? School starts next week and the kids are very excited...Naomi 3rd grade/Daniel 1st grade/Colby preschool.
August 13, 2010 Wow, how time flies when you're having fun. We've been busy this summer. Naomi danced in her fifth recital. She was beautiful and did a fantastic job. Since the end of school we have all attended our church's VBS and took a tour of the U.S.A. We went to Uncle Jojo's house for the family cookout on July 4th. We went to visit the Ritters in Maryland and then on to visit the Galen's in Pennsylvania. We've been to the beach ALOT and are ready for the rest of August to arrive. Summers are awesome!!!
![]() June 20, 2010 June has been a busy month for the McLaughlin family. We started the month with the 4th quarter awards ceremony at school. Both Naomi and Daniel received the Tenney Star award - which is like a good citizenship award. We are very proud of them! Then we had Colby's third birthday party at ChuckECheese. He was so happy that day! On his real birthday, which was a Friday, Miss Amy took him and Daniel to the Georgetown Zip Trip for a local news station. Then both Mommy and Naomi danced in the end of year talent show at school. Lots of fun! Now we have started our summer vacation with lots of beach trips and hanging out with friends and family. Happy summer everyone!
May 30, 2010 Wow, I can't believe the month of May has come and gone. We have had some awesome weather. We've been staying very busy enjoying the outside here in beautiful New England! We had a nice mother's day hanging out with family and enjoying our time together. We are looking forward to a fun and relaxing summer vacation in the three weeks! Yay - Mommy is the most excited!
Stay tuned for Colby's birthday coming soon and hopefully lots of beach pics.
