It CAN'T be March!
Where does the time go!?
Thank goodness Mother Nature
blessed us with snow!

To Saskatoon we went,
in hopes of finding the biggest hill,
tobogganning and skating
were all part of the weekend thrills!

The next "season" was upon us
in the blink of an eye,
determined to get their toes into last year's splash boots,
the boys sure did try!

With toes crunched
and puddles in sight,
we wrung out socks
for most of the night!

The smiles and giggles,
wet footprints on the floor,
priceless memories,
my three monkey I adore!!

December 30th?
This year is nearly through?
What?!?!? No birthday photos, Poppa's visit
or the boys and the pumpkin 'goo'?

Yes, my dear friends,
the past four months are a blur,
I promise I will keep up in 2012,
A resolution, this you can be sure!

There were pageants, milk and cookies,
as we waited for Santa that night,
so sit back and enjoy,
all the photos of Christmas delight!

"A picture is worth a thousand words"...... and 1,ooo photos were taken and captured the memories of an EXTRAORDINARY summer!!! But let's get down to the business at hand....Lol....the First Day of School!! Kaleb didn't miss a beat as he headed out the door! He is getting soooo tall and his feet grew an entire 2 shoe sizes from last Fall!! Miss Hordahl welcomed him to Grade 2 and he was off to find his friends on the playground! I started crying even before I we left the house, managed to pull myself somewhat together while at the school and then cried so more! Lol I am so very proud of our Kaleb J!!  On the way to school, Kaleb wondered if I was crying because "now I would be all alone?!?!?" Salt...wound, kid, salt...wound! Lol Easton and Maguire weren't quite as confident the next morning as Kaleb J as Maguire looked at me panicked and exclaimed,"Today is Tomorrow, Momma?!?!!?"  Lol Easton was quite concerned that he "only knew how to make an E and not the other ones, Momma" and Maguire "only the M!" "You come pick us up, Momma? You come pick us up?" I assured them that I would be back and they started their day with O'Canada and prayer. And when I stopped staring through the window....Lol.... and went inside, they were full of stories about reading stories, making "The Gingerbread Man" and wanted to go find Kaleb!  So tomorrow is another day of Kindergarten and I can not guarantee that the morning won't start with a good cry.............yes, and I mean from yours truly! Lol  Ok, now to get back to sorting through the summer photos!  Did I mention that there are A LOT of them?!!?!?  Lol

School's out for Summer!!  And the Mercer's have been taking full advantage of the sunshine!! Days have been spent at the Splash Park, Elgin Park, Hometown Fair, and most recently the Saskatoon Berry Festival and Mistussinne beach............where Kaleb got up on skis for the first time on his very first attempt!!  I can still see him back there!! I was so excited and proud that I nearly jumped off the back of the boat!! Lol  (I have to leave you in anticipation of the photos until Trisha returns from Mistussinne.  I didn't have my camera.......I had no idea that the child would attempt waterskiing!! Who knew?!?!?!? Lol)

Kaleb has been counting the "Tuesday's" and the Tuesday has finally arrived for our visit to Poppa and Nanny's!!  I hope everyone in "T dot" has gotten their rest.........my three monkey's are coming to play!!!

Breaking news at the Mercer's.............Kaleb Joseph lost his 1st tooth on Saturday & I am pretty sure he swallowed it! Lol  He asked if I could take him to the "hopistal" this weekend to get an x-ray to find it! His Dad assured him that, although we didn't have the tooth to put under his pillow, he could leave a note instead........

"Dear Tooth Fairy,

We lost our tooth.

My Mom wiggle it and we don't know where it went.

I think I swallowed it.

I thought it went on the road.

From Kaleb"

So with the note tucked under his pillow, he fell asleep for a few short hours before bounding up the stairs at 5:20 am to exclaim, "She came! She came!" Lol  He was soooo excited to find two shiny loonies under his pillow. Good work, Daddy...........umm, Tooth Fairy! ;)

March went out like a Lion and we've seen no sun,
but that hasn't stopped the Mercers from seeking out fun.
Some snacks and a movie and Mommy keeping a tight lip,
we surprised the boys with a weekend "Road Trip"!

To Saskatoon we drove for some swimming and "Hop",
then to the Harlem Globetrotters, where the fun did not stop!
"Big Easy" was Mommy's fave', while "Globie" entertained the boys,
now outfitted with a headband and wristband, they've forgotten about all toys!

Kaleb J has been reading and much reading he has done,
we are so proud of his accomplishments and only in Grade 1.
We feasted on "Stone Soup" and were treated to a "show",
where the students of St. Agnes celebrated how much they know!

There's no rest  for the Mercer's,
out with hockey and in with Lacrosse.
"Point, step, shoot", learning Coach Steve is the boss!

More stories and photos of the boys in the sun,
there is nothing sweeter than being their Mom!!

Big Easy is my favorite too!! He is the one that mom stalked in the Med Hat mall and got Reed's picture taken with.

There's been hockey and homework, and trauma, Oh my!
Easton put his teeth through his lip, he's our tough little guy!

Kaleb has been skating with Daddy and a "Rockstar" to Reed,
Maguire is independent and taking the lead!

The snow has been shoveled, and snow forts built high,
as I snuggle Baby Taryn and adore every little sigh!

Yes, these monkeys keep us busy, full of giggles and grins,
I love every moment with J, Kaleb and my "Twins"!!

 Things I learned on vacation:

After 13 years, Jason can STILL surprise me!

Who knew you could deep fry Kraft Dinner?

Pizza on a paint stick?  Why not!!

and you are going to want to make sure you KNOW
who you are standing beside on the C-Train! Lol
(You never know when you are going to have to "hang on"!)

July 10th  Just reread my last story and all that it did was remind me that I STILL haven't started the "Kindergarten Scrapbook"! Lol  The first ten days of July (can hardly believe it is only July 10th) have been filled with Canada Day Festivities, the Mortlach Saskatoon Berry Festival, Easton & Maguire's 1st movie and a lot of sun while hiking in Wakamow Valley!  This is on top of picnics in the park and splashing in the pools with Auntie Bernie every chance they get!!  This weekend has been busy picking out new countertop and cabinets and the boys have already declared they are helping Poppa paint when he gets here!! Lol  We are off to Edmonton on Monday which reminds me that I need to get the laundry done!! Lol  See you next week with more pictures of my monkeys!!

Seeing it IS the middle of June, I thought I had better get everyone caught up with the happenings of May! Lol  All three boys finished up their swimming lessons and passed their respective levels!! Kaleb will continue to swim with the "Flying Fins" in the Fall while Easton and Maguire will take their first Red Cross swimming lesson w/o the Mom in the water.  (I may have to have my suit on just in case!  )

Kaleb has been practicing lacrosse with the Tyke Mustangs two to three times a week for the month of May and got to play in his first game the first weekend of June!  It was so exciting to watch all the Tykes play hard and we Mom' s did A LOT of cheering!!  Kaleb is doing fantastic and even got 5 shots on goal in tonight's scrimmage.  Just ask him to show you his "spinny move"!  Lol  One final game this Sunday but I am sure the Lacrosse stick will stay out all summer!!

The boys got an extra special treat at the end of May when Reed came to spend a week with Gramma (Rachelle and I were treating ourselves to "kid free"shopping in Chestermere! Lol) They are STILL talking about "Baby Reed" and going to McDonald's with Auntie Bernie! Rachelle and I "webcammed" (is that really a word?!?!? Lol) one morning with all of the boys and Reed melted this Auntie's heart when he saw me and shouted "Tina! TINA!"

I can hardly believe that Kaleb only has 8 days of Kindergarten left?!?!?  We are going to spend the afternoon at Elgin Park (weather permitting) with the Kindergarten class to celebrate!!  (I knew I should have done a little bit each month on this Kindergarten scrapbook that I am making b/c now here it is the middle of June and I haven't even started!!  Lol )

We hope you enjoy all the new photos of the Mercer boys! ( I really must work on getting some more "family" photos of our fun!!  Lol )

Practice makes perfect.............from learning phonics to skating.............and the practice is paying off!!  Where do I start?!?!?! Lol  Kaleb had a chance to skate every day with his Kindergarten class and literally overnight got the hang of skating and actually bends his knees!!  Easton has heard us talk so much about it, that he is sure to let us know that HE is bending his knees when he skates across the kitchen floor!! Lol  He got it, he got it!! And he is soooooo excited!!  ALMOST as excited as his Mom cheering like a fool!!  And now this Mom no longer laments over skating lessons twice a week!  He's got it, he's got it!! Lol  I thought I may have brought the wrong child home Friday afternoon from the  St. Agnes Mission Fair.  We had a two or three leftover treat bags and as we are leaving Kaleb is  holding one of them and says, "This is Jared's, Mom"  "How do you know, hon'?" "It SAYS Jared, Mom!"  Lol  This school thing 'ain't a bad thing after all!! Lol Enjoy the new pictures of my monkeys!!

Ok, I will be the first to admit that I did NOT make it to see the clock strike twelve on New Year's Eve!  I know there are more of you out there.........Lol........just come clean!! ; )  My 3 monkeys and I spent the remainder of 2009, and rang in 2010, in Chestermere with Rachelle, Kim & Reed where we bundled up and walked through "Zoolites" at the Calgary Zoo, got some AMAZING deals on Christmas decorations at Ikea, enjoyed great homecooked meals and who knew some Swedes and a meter of fabric could cause us to be in HYSTERICS for hours!!  Lol  We are home safe & sound and are wishing all of you a joyful 2010!
Comments

Merry Christmas!!  December has continued to be a flurry of activity as we anxiously awaited Santa's arrival and he did not disappoint!!  On Christmas Eve, the cookies & milk were left for Santa, we sprinkled oats & sparkles on the back deck so he would not miss our house and we all snuggled into bed with Kaleb wearing his Santa hat!! Hahahaha  We awoke early Christmas morn'.................and couldn't see the tree for the smoke?!?!?!??  Yes, the flue damper WAS fully open but alas, the boys were huddled under blankets on the couch while we opened both doors & the -40°C windchill cleared the house! Hahahahahaha So, with the haze disappearing, the boys quickly found their spot under the Christmas tree & began "oohing" & "whoaing" about what Santa had brought!!   Daddy (having worked all night!) went to bed after putting batteries in all of the "Tag's" & unwinding all the ridiculous wires that held Batman & Spiderman! Hahahahahaha Uncle Kirby, Desirae & Gordon came and had lunch with us and shot some hoops in the kitchen with Kaleb, while Easton and Maguire lined up their 'guys' on th toybox!  With puppets in hand, it was time for a rest before going for Christmas dinner with the Sills. I entered Easton & Maguire`s room only to find that there had been far more happening in that room than sleeping!  When asked who made the mess, Easton quickly answered ``Not me!`` and dashed out of the room leaving Maguire to take the fall! Hahahahhahaha Christmas was complete with being surrounded by great family & friends and sharing in a fantastic turkey dinner and all the trimmings.............including Aunt Edna`s cauliflower casserole! Hahahahahahaha  Christmas 2009..........priceless!!
Comments
Oh I am so glad Aunt Edna's casserole made it to dinner.

Phew!!  Make sure you have a "Timmie's" as you curl up and enjoy the "Toronto 2009" adventure you are about to go on!! Hahahahahaha  It made me tired looking at all the things we did in 10 days!!  Hahahahaha And you won't want to miss THE cutest lamb in "Christmas 2009" album!

Trick or Treat!!!!  Wow!!!  The boys loved everything about Halloween!!  We spent the afternoon at a birthday party complete with Halloween games, face painting, and a punch bowl with a floating hand!! We hurried home after pizza and cake to meet Avery and Clare for some trick or treating!!  It was pure joy to watch Kaleb J and Avery hurry up the driveways and when Kaleb's bag would get full he would trade off for Easton or Maguire's and go back for more!! My little peanuts preferred to stay snuggled in the stroller tonight after a full day!  We brought three sleeping Mercer boys home, managed to pry the sucker out of the chicken's hand and tucked everyone in!  Now I just have to remember to hide all this candy............or the early bird will get the worm.............and the ring pops and the chocolate bars and the Pringles and the candy necklaces.............
Comments
sometimes the early bird is a female-- not a male. I know it is in this house--yummy gummy bears. I stored my children's treats and saved them for their Christmas stockings. That was the good old days.
