HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It has been a long time since we have updated the site, but Oliver has been a very busy guy. He is now almost 2 1/2, and he is a very bright, funny and energetic toddler. He is speaking in full sentences, singing songs, "reading" books, and becoming more charming each day.
Oliver is also about to become a big brother! We are expecting a baby girl in just a few short weeks. It is a very exciting time.
Check back soon for more updates...and for news of the new baby!
Love to all!
UPDATE!!!!!!!
So much has happened in the last few months, and Oliver has grown in to a very busy and delightful toddler. He now walks, runs, dances, twirls, and says many words. In October Oliver and family took a trip to England. Oliver met his Great Grandma Bauer and his Great Uncle David, they both live in Brighton, a seaside town just outside of London. Ollie and Great Grandma got on very well, they laughed and played cards and she even fed him chicken soup! We also travelled to London and had many wonderful adventures there.
Happy Holiday's Everyone!
08/04/05 BREAKING NEWS!!!!! Oliver took his
very first step today!!!! It was just one step, (and only his daddy witnessed it) but we couldn't be prouder of our soon to be toddler.
07/22/05 Oliver got his first haircut today! (CHECK OUT THE PICTURES) He was very good at the hairdressers, not a tear! He's already getting noticed by the babes with his new style.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVER!!!!!!!!
Oliver celebrated his first birthday on July 6th, 2005 with a wonderful party at his Great-Grandparents home in Stratford. We also celebrated the birthday of Great Grandpa McBeath and Grandpa McBeath, as they all have their birthday's in the same week. Ollie had a great time at his party. He was joined by many of his family members, including Great Grandma Byron, whom he was very happy to see. He did cry when we sang Happy Birthday to him, but the tears faded quickly with the first bite of cake. Oliver recieved many beautiful gifts, including a silk sailor suit that had come all the way from England courtesy of Great Grandma Bauer. Thank you to everyone for the Happy Birthday wishes.
As a one year old, Oliver has developed many new skills. He can say "doggie", "dada", "mama" and "no". He is cruising and crawling, but he has yet to take his first step. He can feed himself and chew with his seven new teeth. He points, waves, claps and kisses. He is an exceptionally sweet little boy. Oliver went to the doctor today and he weighs 22 1/2 pounds and is 2 feet 7 inches tall.
NEW PICTURES HAVE BEEN ADDED (Finally!)!!!!! We are sorry that we have not updated in quite sometime. We have been very busy with Oliver over the last four months and he has grown so much. We took a trip to Maryland in May to visit Grandma and Grandpa Cohen. We had a wonderful time with them and we had many exciting experiences including trips to Washington, Annapolis and Ocean City. Oliver proved to be a happy traveller, but he had the most fun when he was crawling all around his Grandparents home and enjoying their company.
We also enjoyed out first Mother and Father Days. We celebrated with a lovely brunch for Mommy and a tour of Rosedale Gardens for Daddy. We are so happy to be the parents of such a lovely little boy.
2/26/2005 - Hello Again!!! Oliver is almost 8 months old! He is such a big and strong boy. He is almost crawling and is trying to pull himself up to stand. He is also waving...and attempting to say "hi"...although it's more of a screeching sound at this point. He enjoys eating solids and is getting much use out of the half a front tooth that he has grown.
12/12/2004 - Oliver is just over 5 months old and he is growing very quickly. He weighed 17lbs 11oz at his check-up last week. He has been rolling over and is very close to sitting up on his own. He loves to read his books and laugh at the dog.

Oliver has had a very exciting month. He was visited by Grandma and Grandpa Cohen and he had a lots of fun playing, reading and doing his exercises with them. We all had a wondeful visit and we were very sad to see them go.
Oliver also had a suprise visit from Carla! She secretly traveled from Vancouver just to see him ( and a few other people too :).
Ollie has also been doing baby and mommy yoga and fitness and is becoming quite the athlete. We expect him to be riding a bicycle any day now...
9/30/2004 - Oliver is just over 12 weeks old and weighs 14 lbs 1 oz. He started to cut his first tooth last Tuesday (Sept. 21, 2004) and has been having a bit of a tough time with teething. Ollie is smiling and talking all of the time and he has started to reach for faces and toys.
8/31/2004 - Oliver is 8 weeks old today! He went to visit his paediatrician, Dr.Lindzon, for his first set of vaccinations. He also weighed in at 12lbs 8oz and measured 24 inches, that is a one pound, one inch increase in just two weeks! The Doctor said that Ollie is bigger than 75% of babies his age...and smarter too :)
8/17/2004 - Oliver and Co. had a busy weekend as we took to the road for Markham and then Stratford. Oliver slept through most of the Byron family reunion where he was introduced to his Great Grandma, Great Aunts and Uncles and many cousins and second cousins. He was also showered with many beautiful gifts (Thank you again to everyone!).
Then we headed off to Stratford to visit with Great Nana and Grandpa and Hamish McBeath. Ollie had a wonderful time walking around the town and enjoying Nana and Grandpa's hospitality. Oliver also loved to smile and Nana, he seemed to enjoy her lovely Irish accent.
Time is moving quickly. Oliver is six weeks old today.
8/12/2004 - Oliver! is just over 5 weeks old. He started to smile today, and we now spend a lot of time tickling him and making funny faces to try to amuse him. He has grown 3 inches and gained a least 3 pounds since birth. Ollie has also begun to make gurgling and cooing noises, sometimes he even smiles and gurgles at the same time. In addition to these new skills, Oliver can also lift his head (when lying on his tummy) and responds to voices by turning his head.
We have started taking Ollie out on the town. He has been all over the city with us in his bugaboo. This weekend will be his first trip in a car. Our fingers are crossed that it goes smoothly!
7/27/2004 - Oliver is 3 weeks old today! Time is passing very quickly and the baby is changing more and more each day. Not only has Ollie grown longer and fatter, but he's becoming increasingly aware of his surroundings. He enjoys being rocked and sung too...we even thought we saw him smile yesterday.
Joseph and I have been adjusting well. I'm feeling less tired and am getting accustomed to the round the clock feedings. We've even been out for some long walks. Hopefully in the coming weeks we will be out more and trekking further than a few blocks away from home, and we will be able to show Ollie off to all of you.
7/8/2004 - Oliver is here! He is very healthy and weighs 7lbs 4oz and is 19 1/2 inches long. We cannot wait for everyone to meet him!
6/7/2004 - We had a wonderful Baby Shower this Saturday. Thank you too everyone who attended for your support and lovely gifts. Big thank you to Ryan (our host...and extrodinary party planner) and to Christina and Brian for the hard work :)
