September 9, 2009~ We have LOTS of exciting news....Hailey is walking officially now! She started really walking on the 4th, she would do it all on her own and seemed way more interested in trying to walk around rather than crawling anymore! Since then she has been walking nonstop...can't remember when I've seen her crawl last! So I'd say she officially started walking at 14 months! Her vocabulary is growing also. She says what's that and now says kitty cat. She can say about 8 words now.

Taylor started pre-school today!! I can't believe how nervous I was...yes I cried like a baby once I got in my car and drove away! She was so excited to go to school to learn and play! Getting up so early will be an adjustment for her and I. This morning I went to wake her up and she said she was still tired and wanted to sleep! As soon as we walked through the door to her classroom Taylor wanted to show her teacher that she could snap her fingers...so she did and her teacher, Miss April, was very impressed, she told Taylor that some of her second graders couldn't even do it, Taylor felt so proud of herself, it was the cutest thing!!

A few weeks ago when we went to the open house she said that she didn't need to go to school because she already knew everything!! She came around to the idea and then got excited. Yesterday she told me that she didn't want me to leave her there because she would miss me too much, which of course made my heart melt and caused me to become even more worried. She asked me if I would wait there for her and I told her I couldn't stay in her classroom, that it was only for kids and teachers. She assumed that I would be waiting outside for her to get done and she was ok with that so I didn't say otherwise. I gave her hugs and kisses before I left and she was just fine, she did think I would be waiting outside for her and she even told Hailey that, so I think that made her feel better. I sure can't wait until Taylor gets home today to hear all about her first day of pre-school!! I am in amazement at how fast the kids are growing up, now we have a pre-schooler and a walker!! I tell ya I'm overwhelmed with emotions right now!!

August 23, 2009~ Yesterday Hailey took three steps on her own!!! She did this a few times that day. It won't be long before she will be walking, I'm sure!! I'd have to say that is makes me a bit sad that she is growing up so fast already...I was kinda hoping to hold onto the baby stage as long as possible. Of course we want her to grow and progress on schedule, but we're sure gonna miss this stage of wanting us all the time. Once she is walking she'll be off and ready to explore and I'll be holding on as much as I can!!

Awww, it's a great feeling for the first step but you're right about wanting to hold on to the baby phase longer. I miss it already and Raven actually runs now. She walked late but running was fast as well as climbing everything. Luckily she has fallen into a "snuggly" phase though and like to cuddle up in the mornign and sometimes at naptime, otherwise we would almost never get to hold her!
Love all the new photos! *hugs* I hope you are all loving your new house and community!

July 23, 2009~ Yesterday the girls went in for their Dr. appointments.  They are doing great.  Taylor weighed in at 32lbs 9.6 oz. which is in the 28th percentile and she measured at 3ft 5.5 in. which is in the 82nd percentile.  The doc said she was tall and skinny!  She was so brave at the appointment.  They gave her a hearing and eye test as well.  She passed them and everything looked great they said, she's right on track!  She didn't need any shots this time so she was super happy to hear that of course, and so was I!!!

Hailey weighed in at 21lbs 5 oz. which is in the 49th percentile and she measured at 2ft. 5.5 in. which is in the 55th percentile.  They said she also is doing great.  Poor Hailey had to have a few shots and her blood drawn from her finger, they squeezed so much out I felt so bad for her!  Hailey was very shy at first and she absolutely hates being layed down on the table with the loud paper on it!!! After awhile she got comfortable with the nurses and doc, they were in there talking with us forever it seemed, I guess I'm just not used to the way civilian health care goes, but I'd have to say that so far I'm really liking it.  You seem to get so much more extra attention and they really spend time talking with you.  So the girls are doing great and we had a very good first experience with our new health care providers.

Tall and skinny, that's for sure!!! and Hailey is catching up! I was reading this thinking you were seeing military doctors, haha, I'm glad the cilivian docs are so much better, another thing I have to look forward to!

July 18, 2009~ Ok so it has been FOREVER since I've updated on the girls...I know, I'm sorry.  Things have gotten a bit crazy here with moving and Hailey becoming mobile!!  It becomes harder and harder to keep this site up to date!!  So I'll do a recap of the last three months.

Daddy has passed his probation period with his new job and is feeling comfortable with his work.  He travels once in awhile for a few days or so, not bad at all.  There are some weeks when there is not a lot to do and not many jobs are planned so he'll get to stay home, which of course the kids and I love!!

We have moved into our new home and are now feeling settled finally!  It is so great to have all of our stuff and know that we are in a permanent residence.  Our neighborhood is fantastic!!  Taylor has met a few friends that live only a few houses down the road.  She plays almost everyday with a girl named Avery who is 4 years old as well.  They have very similar personalities...very independent and strong minded, so they can be a lot to handle together!!  We have a lot of Viking fans around us, so Ryan is loving that and I have some neighbors who enjoy drinking wine and sitting out by the fire, which is a nice relaxing way to spend the night, especially when Ryan is gone for a couple of days for work.

I have a funny story to share....yesterday Taylor was playing dress up and she was putting on some makeup, she came out and I said what are you getting all prettied up for???? She says....I have to be pretty for Titus ( a 6 yr old boy down the road).  We were like what??? Daddy of course wasn't liking this idea so much and said she is on time out until she's 25.  I have a funny feeling we're gonna have some difficult teenage years ahead of us!!

Taylor is becoming such the big girl, she says she knows everything there is to know!! ha ha!!  I swear we have at least one big laugh a day with all the silly stuff she says.  This is such a great age, I never would've thought anyone could get me laughing as much as she does.  She is just the best with her sis, she always wants to watch her, play with her and help her learn, they have such a good relationship already!!  We have so many plans for Taylor coming up in the near future.  She starts pre-school in August! She has taken an interest in soccer and can really kick that ball! She wants to be in ballet and I want her to take swimming lessons.  I can't wait to see her in ballet!! Also, Taylor will be a flower girl once again in September.  Daddy's cousin Matt is getting married so she'll be the flower girl and Tyler will be the ring bearer.  They are very close in age and will be so cute together.

Now an update on our little one year old!!  First of all.....ONE!!!! how did this happen so fast??? What they say about time going by faster with your second is soooooo true!! She is still and will always be our little baby girl.  Hailey is such the little lovebug, she always wants to cuddle and be held...I'm holding onto that for as long as I can!!  So here's a list of everything she is doing now....standing, walking along the couch, waving, blowing kisses, giving real kisses on the lips, dancing to music, gives serious attitude if she doesn't get what she wants!! She now says....Mama, Dada, Hi, Juice, kiss.  When she says juice or kiss you have to guess on which one she is talking about because they sound the same!!  Hailey is getting close to walking, but isn't there just yet, she has been reluctant to try, she seems scared to let go and sits down when you try letting go and even when you try walking with her sometimes.  Within the last week though she seems a bit more brave and will walk with us holding just one hand, so it looks like she will be trying soon!

The girl's birthday party was a blast! Taylor really enjoyed herself.  She of course just loved the attention, when everyone sang to her, she just light up!! She sat up tall and looked around with the biggest smile on her face, it was awesome!  Hailey on the other hand was so scared the entire day.  When it was cake time for her everyone sang and she looked around almost to say, what are you all looking at...you better look away"!!  I don't think she smiled once the entire day, I felt so bad.  As soon as everyone left though she was all smiles!

Ok so this sure has gotten long...the girls have their dr. appointments next week so I'll update with that info then.

April 17, 2009~AND SHE'S OFF!!!!!!!  Hailey is officially crawling now and has been for about a week or so.  She had been moving one knee forward for about a month now, but after that knee came forward she would plop down and just give up.  Our little girl also has pulled herself up from a sitting position to standing twice now.  Once on the bed and the other on the coffee table.  It just seems so fast that she started doing everything all at once, she is so proud of herself too, she gets so happy when she gets that toy that is all the way across the room!!
